9:30 "This is a 1st gen piece of tech so it will get better over time"
And yet your jackass had to mention the price…………………fucking hypocrites amiright…. What did any of u dick muffins buy the first 40,000 4k TV's…………….NO YOU DIDN'T, same shit here. This time instead of showing us a prototype as they did with the first 4k tvs this time they showed us a much more consumer ready product. Its still got that beta price tag no shit but its better then what we got before.
AND yet u idiots still complain. u just can't win with the public fucking can you…UGGggg
Haha, the instant Apple announces their own fold-able iPhone you will be posting a video about how folding phones are the future. This is one of the most biased channels I've seen on Youtube. Honestly, I don't recall a single video on here that has ever criticized anything Apple has done, while basically everything that Samsung does is criticized. I have my own problems with the new folding phones coming out myself but I also realize that these are going to be first-generation products that are reinventing how to make a smart phone, so obviously there are going to be compromises. But I know, I know, Apple will absolutely perfect the concept and only once they release one will folding phones be any good. Smh….
If we are going to change to foldable phones then we are going back
Huawei's foldable phone is legit actually. Folded, it actually looks like a smartphone. Samsung's screen size is just too small. One of the reasons why huawei is gonna dominate..
Huwai foldable is 100 time better than samsung foldable phone
It is a dumbest concept ever
i use a Samsung galaxy s7 edge and i absolutely hate that curve display. It makes screen protectors expensive and it comes off easily if not properly placed. It makes the screen very sensitive. Also i barely use the shortcuts. I only use it to call which saves me about 5-7 seconds from normal call but google assistant can do it even faster. The major problem i have it the curve is that i mistakely touch the screen all the time. If im standing or in an attentive sitting position, it doesnt matter as much but when im sitting in a comfortable way or resting then i actually get irritated by how many times i mistakely touch the curve.
nah fam, there's really no need for a phone that can turn to a tablet. I see 0 use or need
It’s the first generation product, also the latest one. Lol
Uh… isn't it 4.6 inches for the screen size when folded, not 4.7 inches?
403rd like
I like this video. It's nice seeing you cover tech in general and not just Apple as I have thought what your thoughts are on certain topics.
Good luck with scratches on a plastic display on the outside!
iPad Mini has 4,490mAh battery haha
Use the smaller front screen for notifications, texts, whatever on the go and use the big, unfolded screen for media consumption. Not that hard
its a version one of product, why being such a crybaby? this is a shame consider im apple fan too
Either they will fade away as just another gimmick, or Apple will do one right and they'll take off. Regardless, I don't want one.
The prices are just ridiculous.
Listen, if you want to mock Samsung for their edge displays, then do it with facts. There are functional benefits, such as being able to have a ruler or contacts with just one swipe from the edge.
i guess apple wants to make one too, but not soon because it’ll ruin their newly “refreshed” ipad mini. the mini will last another 3-4 years and then apple might introduce a real foldable phone
It feels like foldable smartphones are being forced by mfgrs rather than being a trend the market is moving towards. I feel like we'll get 2-3 generations of foldable phones, but they'll go the way of 3D tvs.
It'll be the future.
I believe we'll perfect this in less than 5 years. We'll be looking back like "lmao remember when your phone had just one tiny screen?" ?
You should rename your channel to Applesplained.
This man criticizing 1st gen tech, speaking like either he or Apple made something better.
Holographic Squad rise!!!
Samsung is still using the curve edges for app shortcuts. You just have to slide to the left and there
is. Simple
I believe the potential is there unless holographic displays develop quicker
I wonder this guy ever used a smartphone other than apple after note edge! That mentioned edge feature is still in their! LOL
You see those warriors from Hammerfell?
Making a video like u or watching and commenting like me is very easy,
Go try to make a foldable display and then complain lol
Answering the title question: YES THEY ARE
Great, not enough idiots in traffic operating phones now they will have to unfold them too.
The iphone x display is folded at the bottom of the phone
I feel like a technology would only become mainstream once Apple implements them into their devices, once they are perfected. Touch screen devices did not become mainstream until the iPhone came out. Smart watches did not become main stream until the Apple Watch was introduced. Tablet computers did not become mainstream until the iPad came out. I could go on about Apple's history when it comes to implementing new technology. My point is that Apple is not usually the first to introduce a new piece of technology, but they are always the first to perfect them and implement them in a way that makes it useful. I don't know if Apple will be the first to perfect the foldable phone, but considering their history, they are the most likely to achieve that goal.
Samsung: Galaxy Fold
Huawei: Mate X
Apple: iPhone 6
Foldable tech is nowhere near ready and anybody who thinks it is is kidding themselves. These prototypes up for release an absolute joke and people will only purchase them as a status symbol.
I will never be interested in foldable phones.
I feel like there going to end up like 3d Tv’s. There not going to sell well and itll be abandoned
First bendable phone was iPhone 6 lmao
why?
I am looking forward to the drop tests and bend tests, lol.. And then who is even going to try and make protective phone cases for them. Initially they will sell, eventually they will slip into a novelty status.
Am I the only one who doesn’t see the point in this
I will never have foldable phone! I will only have normal phone!
Steve Jobs needs to come back and save Apple…..
My guy what’s up with the audio?
No foldable phones aren’t shit
I had the galaxy gear and ur right it was bulky and uncomfortable to wear all the time my gear s2 on the other had I have on 24/7 (part from when charging) and it’s no bigger then a large watch feels natural with tons more features 1st gen or even 2end gen of any Device will have issues and bugs to work through
Is there something wrong with you? The Samsung Galaxy phones that have curved screens still use the app shortcuts and the edge screen is very useful other than just looking good, you can use it for a flashlight shortcut app shortcuts quick access to certain contacts and a lot more like the calculator. Me being a power user I use the edge function on my Samsung Galaxy S9 plus Daly and you saying that it's you pointless shows that you have not done the research for this video.
We gotta start somewhere though. Take touchscreen for example, we started off with resistive displays but then as multitouch displays got cheaper to make it became the new norm. This will be the same case for foldable phones.
Unless there prices drop they will never be mainstream or replace flagship phones as £1000 is a lot for a phone around £2000 is ridiculous especially when most of us have pc or tablets at home why do you need bigger the a phablet while out??
