I don't get why people want rated R Venom I get it'll look cool but it doesn't mean it'll make the movie better, has no one seen a Christopher Nolan film "cough" Batman.

Did people actually like Venom? Or did they pretend to like it because critics didn't and they wanted to be contrary? I'm genuinely asking because I don't understand what there was to like about it.
