  1. Yeah, this was the one tool I was both most excited to play with and least excited for humanity writ large to have access to. This one is gonna be the game changer. For better and for worse. I already spend way too much time listening to absolutely absurdist podcasts using NotebookLM. I can only imagine what's going to happen when people can essentially make their own movies and TV shows to their particular liking.

  2. I keep expecting one day that Marques will make one of these videos, then say at the end that the entire thing was generated by a prompt and he's not actually on camera 😅

  3. Breaking: thieving machine that has been feasting on scraped dataset of our videos looks very much like the videos! When will people stop freaking out in astonishment that sampled music sounds as real as sampled music and rather think about the consequences of this unregulated monstrosity?

  4. If it Cant beat 1st Rank = Hailo(Minimax) they must not even release it 2nd Rank = Kling. So far it LOOKS we have been waiting for an Empty Box. Until i use it, ill say my piece.

  5. What about the ethical and environmental issues? 😑 You're intentionally ignoring the bigger negative impacts on society, let alone the fact that your own content was used as training data without your permission.

  6. I hope they embed an identify encoding into the video image itself (that we won’t recognize, but Sora can, not just a watermark) for easy identification if it is ai generated

  7. Even thus this is your job; to review tech, the ethical modern world is kinda f**up when a content creator is reviewing a tool with I high probability to include his own copyrighted work. And this is just ONE creator making a living. What about ALL other pirated datasets? Where are the ethics modern people?
It’s like shooting you self in back reviewing this…. 😢 ppl will just accept these ”tools” if folks is not starting thinking about what a cool piece of tech will do on us.

Hopefully the flood of static, lifeless, overgraded , slow pan shots will start people craving some real artistic human work. And turns of the internet, cause this will be the end of internet.
Go to a show, a concert, art gallery’s or go out and snap a ***ng shot on your smart phone!

Then force Sam Faultman to share his training set. AGI, for what? Lazy people? Live to learn, not letting a environmental destroying slow pan machine tell you, YOU made this. DALLE 3 is one smartphone/image-ish. Let’s do the math on Sora.

  8. Generative imagery may be getting more realistic, but it still lacks any real deliberacy in what it makes. Sure, the subject is always pretty centered, but nothing else in the image receive nearly the same amount of detail during the generation. I can only assume the AI prioritizes meeting the criteria of the prompt as accurately as possible, rather than making it look as nice as possible.

  9. I’m sure there will also be tools (there already is but for text) that use AI to tell if a video is AI or not, but then I’m guessing AI will get so advanced that the tools can’t detect it anymore but then I’m sure the tools will advance to the point it can detect advanced AI

  10. The moment AI has started to generate even slightly convincing videos of "animation" or "reality", it honestly made me scared. All I could think was, "This has to be stopped. There is no merit to having these robots improve at this. All this will lead to is a world where even us humans will never be able to tell what's real or fake.". I don't care if there are a few positive things about better video generation capabilities.

    This is just terrifying.

  11. “The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.”

― George Orwell, 1984. Dude AI is getting absolutely insane, we're on the brink of needing some sort of confirmation of genuine reality.
