  1. I also said this over at @JerryRigEverything . Range is great stat to talk about and what people worry about, but can we start talking efficiency with EV's. As flawed as eMPG it still helps people realize the real world costs of ownership. You say it gets double the range of Rivian but it also because its double the size of the battery, which also means double the cost to charge. It like saying a f150 and Carolla are the same because the both travel the same distance even thought one has 2x size gas tank.

  2. In conservative politician circles these days there is a lot of heartburn over EVs as if they are a left-wing woke conspiracy. But c'mon… EVs are where the innovation is in the automotive field and things are only going to get better from here. The number of people who can afford a $100K EV truck is pretty small, but GM's just getting started. Innovations from this vehicle are going to filter down to the cheaper models. I foresee a lot of bros liking this kind of pick-em-up truck fairly soon and all of the rant about "You can't take away our gas-powered cars" will be in the past, just like we don't hear anyone say "Get a horse!" anymore.

  3. There will be lower trims and the price will drop to around 85K and less. The worktruck is around 72k with basic everything for around 72k and qualifies for th4e 7,500 instant rebate. Same battery slightly better range.

  4. A few points: 1. Hauling around all that battery for rare use is a problem. It takes forever to charge too. 2. Here's a test for everyone: look at every truck you see out there and ask yourself if a van or an SUV or even a car could do the same thing. There are few who really use a truck for it's very limited benefits over other vehicles. In tests, >75% of trucks aren't needed.

  5. It does have a sport mode, btw. It’s called wide open watts, or WOW. Which delivers like 745hp and a 0-60 in like 3.5 seconds or something. It was on the bottom left when he went to modes.

  6. So a lot of range but very inefficient needing a huge, heavy, expensive battery to achieve it.

The lack of native NACS is a big strike too. Not interested in adapter life when the world is supposedly going to NACS and GM said they were headed there too.

  7. @ Marques You can definitely switch to ultra-wide from the primary camera on the 16 pro—from all fps options as well. This was a decent upgrade from the 14 Pro at least it only let you do that on 30 fps or lower.

  8. Hey Marques, I'd love for you to help educate people about "Range Anxiety" instead of focusing so much on range. Most of your viewers don't have electric vehicle. When I finally got, I realized that range anxiety isn't really a thing. Too many people refuse to go EV because of range anxiety, they think they need 450 miles of range. That's simply not true, and you know it because you have an EV. Anyone with an EV does know it. Help people understand range, don't just criticize cars for not having enough range. (Frankly, most electric cars should probably only have 100-200 miles of range because it is outrageous to have such big batteries for everyone.)

  9. Honestly after driving evs for quite a few years now I skeptically switched to a Tesla and no matter how much better other evs might be I find Tesla's charging infrastructure drastically better. As someone who drives long trips for work often I can't bring myself to go back to googling where stations are, I prefer it to be integrated into the car so it pre plans my entire trips for me. Until other evs switch to Tesla chargers or something else happens with the charging infrastructure I'm staying with tesla. Especially with the security features of saving videos

  10. You have to wait and watch the real truck reviews for this thing, loading it up, towing, off-roading, etc.
Watching a review like this one is only comparable to learning about the vehicle by walking up to it in a dealer but not being able to try it.

  11. Can we confirm the plug and charge with Tesla and GM? I thought auto-charge was not supported. You have to initiate in the car or mobile app, will not automatically start charging.
