  11. The video insert is incorrect. The claim out there that the physical cart for Mario Kart World being $90 was misinformation. Bothe the physical and digital version are $80.

  15. It blows my mind how people can live through the SteamDeck and the various portable gaming PC releases, and still somehow call a Nintendo portable console with graphics better than the v1 Steamdeck for $450 'criminally expensive'.

    Let's take the costs of building to the scale like the big three vs a MSI or Asus device, and the typical ROI for consoles out of the equation. What else are people comparing this to around $450 that makes this too expensive???

    Know whats cheaper than buying a phone that prevents apps from sending you notifications?
    Uninstalling the app on the cheaper better phone.
    I dont have any of this on my phone, i use a browser to access youtube, the only notifications i get are from my texts, emails, discord, and 3CX/office/teams(for work though teams and outlook are not allowed to run in the background) also, my phone is ALWAYS on silent, though most phones have the option to have notifications for only some apps like the phone/text but off for things like teams, instagram, etc

My thing about the switch cartridges is, whats stopping a game manufacturer from going with microSD/SD Express and encrypting their files, you could have 512GB cartridges for less than Nintendo charges for 64GB cartridges, and in theory both SD and SD Xpress would be faster(assuming nintendo uses some sort of fancy communication standard because those carts have fewer pins than a UHSii)

  22. The discussion about discipline, usage addictions and social media companies/businesses shows the difference between Marques and his staff. Moreover, the difference between the greats, the CEOs, the legends from average and even above average people. They don’t create excuses or passes for themselves or other people

  23. FYI, the largest area of concern for lead paint is for children eating it, parents wishing to have kids around the time of exposure, and hypertension of extended exposure in adults(in that order for concern.
    Also, it wasnt lead paint that was the big problem, it was that from like the 30s to the 90s kids were breathing in lead-smog from cars, this directly lead to more violent crime.
    Fun fact, banning leaded gasoline is the main contributor to the largest reduction in violent crime in the country, many attribute it to the 1994 "Assault Weapon Ban" but the critical thing is that
    1: All violent crime dropped similarly weather they used a gun or not
    2: Gun and other violent crime started falling before the ban
    3: Before during and after the ban, nearly all gun crime used weapons that were not included in the ban.
    We're talking like 5% or less gun crime used the weapons that were targeted in the AWB

    The story about banning machine guns ~10 years earlier is even funnier, less than 1% of gun crime used legally owned machine guns, machine guns were "given up" as a consession to protect the american public from anti-human rights states, in a law called FOPA(hughes amendment of FOPA banned new machine guns) but these anti-human rights states promptly ignored FOPA, except for the Hughes amendment part.

This is going to become an industry standard thanks to them. Vote with your wallet. Do not buy the console

  29. Okay so there's a big difference between by the hand of someone and by the hand of the original person who did that style and by the first person to do a style even somewhat similar to that…
    And yes if anyone knows that something is made with the assistance of AI then it does lower the overall value of it however it doesn't mean that it has no value.

    Would you pay more for a work of art if the artist went out of their way to make their own paint brushes? What if they went out of their way to make their own paint and canvases too?
    What if I told you the artist went out of their way to collect the raw materials from nature itself to make the art?
    Okay then would you say that someone who doesn't do all of this isn't an artist?
    No of course not it doesn't matter if you buy the supplies from the store or if you make them all yourself Yes one will inherently increase the value of it because more work was put into making that work of art however if it's subject matter isn't good enough then who cares, well other than rich people with too much money to spend and no taste. 😅
    Also you can have a originality in something that was programmed based on other sets of data. The only way you can become a good artist is by looking at plenty of art and getting plenty of ideas and inspiration percolating around and crossing of wires and testing what works and doesn't work and what others might not have tried versus what they did do. Just like you can't become a great novel writer if you've never read a novel in your entire life.
    You can come up with things that are "original" Even if they are inspired by other things.
    I made an AI image of Betty White as Captain America as a Funko Pop figure.
    I made images of Mewtwo as a samurai in Dragon Ball Z. None of these ideas are original on their own however it is the combination of ideas that is the originality itself. Did the creators of Dragon Ball Z put Mewtwo in their universe ever? What about as a samurai? Okay then… Did the creators of pokémon do that? Okay then that is some originality. It's nothing that any one of the original creators involved created and therefore it itself is original.
    Now I could upload an image and just say filter this as if it were a Miyazaki film and that's not originality that's just a filter. It's the same as giving it a black and white filter or a grainy old picture filter.
    Now choosing how to frame that photo and all of the other decisions involved when taking a photo well that was the originality.

  34. 1:18:22 A lot of what “disciplined” people see as them being disciplined and others not, is literally brain chemistry (executive function). It’s easier to just see others as flawed when it’s just their own privilege of not having a disordered executive function. Their brains are literally better at rewarding them for doing what they see as taking discipline, while they don’t see the people struggling are having to do all the same hard work without the “brain rewards” that all animals need to do uncomfortable tasks.

  35. Really disappointed by Marques’ take this week. Saying that people who buy minimal phones “lack discipline” is reductive and, frankly, irresponsible. Billions are being poured into making smartphones and apps as addictive as possible—it’s not a fair fight. For someone with his platform to shift the blame onto individuals, rather than calling out the companies weaponizing attention, feels careless. Most people aren’t weak—they’re up against systems designed to hijack their brains. We should be pushing for better regulation and accountability, not blaming individuals for struggling against a system designed to make them struggle.

  40. In reggie fils-aime's book he talks about how he had to fight nintendo to get them to include wii sports as a free title cause they dont want to devalue any of their hard work which explains the welcome tour pricing. Still wack though

  43. I feel like you all were a little uncritical of the pricing of this console. Looking at how they historically price these repackaged games it’s getting a bit abusive to consumers. And the console itself is charging a ton for features that have existed elsewhere for the last decade. People need to stay away to send a message or all the systems will be charging $80+ for games.

  48. the views vs engaged views reminds me of how car manufacturers all use 0-60 times with drag strip rollout. It's to be consistent with other manufacturers not necessarily to be honest
