Because the bezel is uniform all the way around, i dont mind its thickness. At $500 thats the least of my concerns anyway

Is that 0 though? Personally think Google is playing this too safe – this phone should either be $100 cheaper, or be better. It’s too comparable to the entry iPhone, and honestly, most people will get the iPhone for this price.
