Rather than replacing parts, I would rather have parts that can be upgraded to the next generation.
You can’t make a phone that’s extremely repairable and expect to stay afloat. To stay in business in this fast world, you have to sell more year over year to keep profits up. That’s why you see these small phone companies start off great, then eventually end up just like Apple and Samsung. That’s why I just stick with the best.
HMD Skyline back Cover Not Available in Market
Don't be a slave to Apple bro. It's makes you stupid
HMD, Hug My Di… Oh wait.
SEE APPLE IT CAN BE DONE!!! Stop with the stupid excuses when we all know you want planned obsolescence.
The problem with removeable back covers is that when it gets stolen it is easy to remove the battery and sim and can’t be traced anymore. IPhones makes it harder to runaway with it since you can’t do this easily.
All these repairable phones are pointless because you can't upgrade the primary components: RAM, CPU, GPU, display. So you're just going to throw it away in 2 years when they release a new model.
Doesn't work with a lot of cell companies
Angle grinder users do not want magnets in anything. They become pin cushions of razor sharp steel shards. And like a bird eating fruit, a carrier of those shards to places they shouldn't be.
Obligatory complaint about the lack of a headphone jack.
Sweet phone – all phones should be repairable by the user like this !!!
Make the parts upgradable too
Great concept! Please review Vivo X200 mini
There is a problem with having phone over 10 years yes you can replace almost anything. I have galaxy note 4 I still use since 2014. problem is not the phone. Its apps support. And same problems will be wih 2025 smartphones with 7 years of their support. Uou cant use that app because you dont have 128gb of ram in the phone even though the app is using only 4gb of ram. etc.

If this phone is promised a longterm software update and good value for money side Then every one would consider it Common people don't do such kind of Ai or that much automation they enjoy a good hardware and software not too much
5:14 yes marques, it affects the sensor and camera, they could redesign the internal, but it'll take time
a phone with easily replaceable parts is more of a safety hazard than any other phone cuz what do you mean someone can pick up my phone and change some parts in it in less than 20 minutes and i would never know the difference???????????
7s gen 2
I personally think wireless charging is quite unnecessary. I feel like it mostly makes sense in cars that have built in charging pads.
1:47 iPhones never had removable batteries, but most Android phones did.
I'd take this over a Nothing any day.
I never seen the value in haptics. I never turn on almost none of them.
If you simply put a magnet ring inside, it will interfere with all the sensors and the camera stabilizer, unless you redesign the inside components which might affect the camera layout and design and everything. Apple definitely already passed this issues a long time ago, unlike everyone else.
Unfortunately, nowadays, changing the battery will not increase the lifespan of your phone since it is programmed to become obsolete and not receive updates after a certain amount of time. It was possible before because they were not smartphones, they were simple cell phones.
HMD is fairphone but the phone isn't ewaste out of the box!
Software sustainability is more important than hardware. We can get a screen or other part replaced somehow if we spend some money but cant put a "newer" generation of Software that apps demand unless someone creates a Custom ROM for each phone. I have a Lenovo Phab that runs perfectly but cant use it, no app is supported because it runs older android OS.
Praise this phone yet you personally continue to buy junk iPhone which is the most anti-repair design and overpriced.
Pretty sure I drove an HMD Skyline in Vice City
I was upset about the lack of magnets in the S25 but after using for the past couple weeks I get it now
Removable batteries were awesome. It runs out, change the battery and it's back without leaving a bloody battery pack plugged in for an hour. Was do useful on my Galaxy S4 at a festival.
Is this a sposnored video?
What was that green screen sheet held to the back of the phone to see the magnets?
One more amazing feature… it is close to 200 grams of weight ie, not as heavy as others, usually 250
Shout out to the 3310 at the back!
