  1. This isn't a budget phone. Google is starting to price themselves out of being competitive. Google is also not giving anywhere close to what they used to for trade ins on gen to the next. My Pixel 7 is only valued at $100. In the past I have never gotten less then $180 from them regardless of the phone and a few times they gave me $300 or more. I haven't checked on Pixel 8 reliability but Pixel 7 was not great. Google already gave me a new phone once because multiple power and battery components failed and searching online this was way more common then you would think.

You can get a Thinkphone with a premium build, bigger screen, and flagship SOC with 256gb of storage for $399 unlocked almost all the time straight from motorola or Lenovo. Or you can get a Nothing Phone 2a for $349.

  2. So what the point? You can buy Nothing phone 2a for 350 with bigger battery. Do you remember the days when (a) series was really budget-friendly?

  3. Do a heat test. Take the phone in bright day with data on and take some videos. I am sure you can't keep your phone in your hand.

  4. I appreciate that they're keeping the same chip I always believed that the budget phones should have their least used features removed, not their best.

  5. I prefer the earfun headphones than the Google Pixel 8a, Android is getting worse and worse each day, even with the latest version and even with Samsung Phones, Google is losing the way
