  1. Siri is far from intelligent to the point it’s embarrassing. But even so people use Apple over Google precisely because of data privacy and I really doubt they will want to compromise on this. Forget partnerships with Google, they really just need to invest in fixing Siri. It’s like the learning platform behind it is just terrible to the point it needs a complete overhaul.

  2. 24 min video, and the first 15 min (63%) was all about Apple. 😂😂 Here in Europe, my perception is that most people don't really care much about Apple compared to the USA.

  3. The setup is also kind of weird, if they are all taking to each other why they are in separate tables? And the two guys far over there doing something else but at the same time talking too much

  4. Curveball would be Apple doesn’t even use the words “AI”. Just how they like to use their own marketing terms. Like how it’s not called a fingerprint scanner on iPhone it’s called “Touch ID”. It’s not an OLED HDR display, it’s called “Super Retina XDR”. My bet they don’t call it AI, they call it like “Apple Mind” or something like that lol

  5. Agreed predictive typing has been changed and is a lot worse, it will improve slightly in the new version when it comes out of beta if it hasn’t already. Absolutely sucks still though!

  6. What is Apple doesn’t do partnership with Gemini at all? What if they bought an AI type thing and decide to do it on their own it takes years to develop from my understanding of how this is gonna work. I don’t think AI is gonna be out in time for iOS 18.

  7. 3:29 I agree with you. The keyboard is really bad now ever since they made the latest changes to predictive text. I have to correct the autocorrect with much more frequency than before. Also, the recommendations are horrible.

  8. Wasn’t it announced that they have a deal with Anthropic too? My guess is Siri does local AI for secure things and then you pick your LLM for external queries. During setup, pick Gemini, Anthropic, OpenAI etc…

  9. For AI – Maybe they don't mention Google exactly, but give you the option to select the LLM which powers Siri? Like you select the default search provider. You can switch between Gemini, OpenAI, etc. as you want.

  10. I think the real move for Apple is to Create an AppleAIToolKit… The App Developers can begin to incorporate AI features into their apps easily into the Apple ECO system. Bypassing the use of ChatGPT…

  11. On a phone, AI should be hidden and not thought about like:
    1. Suggest to me the best Angle and Lighting to take a picture wherever I am in the world.
    2. Tell me the next workout I should do and how long to do it to achieve my goals and do it in real time after each workout based on my current heart rate.
    3. Play the next song that I would probably like based on the last song, day of week, time of day, activity I’m doing, etc…. Without me asking.
    4. Plan my driving route based on my habits not just traffic conditions…

Whatever the do i think it will be seamless without users trying to tell it how to work. AI is still trained… it still has bias based on it’s training. Just like humans… we are trained and our training has bias.

  12. Outside of creating a Super Good Search Engine and Making people LESS CREATIVE in Thinking…. AI is a bit useless for the average person. Yes, plagiarism… and for coding it’s great… But I still log that as “Search Engine Stuff”,

But I think using AI on the Health Side could be very Useful….

My phone can know everything about me and keep it private to me… but then use aggregated data to augment it.
