What a year! We were able to race in epic stadiums and arenas in 2019. There was a lot of speed, a lot of close finishes, and a lot …

  1. Feel like all of those dudes are just jealous of Vanover/mob mentality. It’s not really arrogant if you’re actually beating everybody, he’s just speaking the truth. I never felt like he was super arrogant or anything I just felt like he was confident/feeling himself. I also feel like the sport is very high paced + high energy and it’s hard not to be excited when you’re winning. Idk they seem salty lol.

  2. I wish the DRL would be more inclusive, it’s predominantly white male and how can you even prove they are giving all kinds of people a chance when there is no way to find out how to compete to get in. All the local league links on their website are dead. On top of it all, if they want people to get into it, they need to offer viewing for free first before charging to watch the competition.

  3. Why is this the only season overview… could we get this but for all the other seasons? (I'm just interested in the physical races, but yea).
This was great watching. Could even stretch it out into a 2 hour show. But this is the only one, sadly. I think the other season races are on twitter, if one can find them, in the form of livestreams, but the viewing can be pretty rough, unfortunately. Plus it's not condensed enough. I really like the overview here.
Super sad to see the actual content of other seasons not on this channel. SOOO many people are just too confused as to how to actually watch the sport, which is terrible. It should be accessible online at any time. Not sure if this is some shitty contract thing with the companies airing the content or what. Really unfortunate and is surely halting the sport big time.

If the contracts don't allow for it in relation to earlier seasons, then hopefully we can get videos like this, for future seasons. Also seeing each race would be great, maybe some set amount of time after it first airs elsewhere (a post production version is what I'd most want to see). This really needs to be part of the contracts or whatever. Otherwise it's just ridiculous.

  4. That was awesome.
So in one of the later tournaments, Vanover comes 1st with record pace beating times 3 times in a row, and then because he crashes on the single last round, he ends up coming 3rd and Gab takes it. I understand that's generally racing for ya, but how annoying is that, for the viewers and the top competitors.
I like the points system, like what they're doing for the overall season points. That applied to each competition in the season, would be better I think. Especially where crashes are so easy to occur, that just ruin everything. When it's done this way, the best flyer (shown by how many times they win or place higher, in that very tournament), probably often don't win the tournament, because they screwed up at the wrong time, despite clearly being the best and maybe ever screwing up far less than everyone else, when factoring in all the rounds.

The final tally for the season is more fair, but it's still not representative, because it doesn't factor in how many rounds you won in a tournament (which could way way more than anyone else).
At least this is my current understanding of it.

Orrrr, maybe the fastest competitors are intentionally being a bit conservative so as to not wipe out, and then only push it extra hard at the end when they can't just coast through in a position that is less than 1st, and Vanover pushed it too hard and GAB707's consistency won him the race, with a bit of fortunate circumstances involved.
So it wouldn't necessarily be that Vanover is just consistently better, as much as GAB707 somewhat allowing Vanover to potentially place higher, so as to play it more safe when he can afford to.

Seems they are pretty much always going all out, though, so I dunno how much validity this holds! and GAB707 did seem unhappy each time he didn't place first in a round, which communicates that he is liking going pretty much all out in each round and it's not enough. In the last round, Vanover was still in front, though maybe he was pushing it even harder.
GAB707 was also getting very concerned and unhappy with Vanover's race times, too, which implies that GAB707 already didn't think he could do a faster time, since he was likely already trying to do so, which explains his emotions.

MAYBE! what would I know. This stuff looks real cool either way. Just want to be able to access all the races on this youtube channel, and I'm a VERY happy camper. Or even a PPV situation, just give the fans an easy way to see the stuff. Or negotiate a way to publish the actual races on here, some time after the event first airs. Hopefully that is what happened with the 2019 overview here. Hopefully we will see more of this.

  5. 38:20 man you said you're from South and you have to be humble when you beat others…..so Vanny doesn't appreciate that…and you seem not to be that kind of guy…

  6. Hello! Could someone please explain what the word "heat" means in this context? im in a group project for where we have to research about this sport
