That solar panel is like when you get stuck in a remote area w no gas/battery but only Sun. So you don't need U-Haul
Even though its July 2023, the new Prious hasnt reached us in sunny Israel but Marcus presentation really entered me to the shoppers line. Thanks for a well done presentention! Dov
How resistant is the catalytic converter from theft?
manifesting I get this car by next year
The order of vehicles really should have been gas, electric, then hybrid being the newest technology. Toyota has always been ahead of the curve.
Has Lamborghini Huracán design when on its side
Open letter to Toyota: PLEASE build a corolla Cross with those exact components, AWD, solar roof, and add the option to a sollar hood. Perfect, flawless
so u can drive forever with a solar powered car i guess or whatever it's called
Faster than a civic si
Gotta put bitterly doors on that
This thing low key looks like an i8
I wonder if the solar system will continue to charge the EV battery when the car is on hybrid mode. I've always thought this was a missed opportunity on previous prius models. Why couldn't toyota make the regenerative breaking and hybrid system charge the EV battery? Maybe it's too complicated, which then increases the price of the car?
It is king
They should put a solar panel on that massive dash area. Bonus points if it doubles as a sun shade for that massive windshield. These cars are going to get volcanic hot in sunny places.
"The Prius Complex" is what I and my partner have titled the absolute need other drivers feel to cut us off or get in front of us when we drive our 2008 Prius. It is very real lol
MAAAAAN I like it! Like a lot actually, the solar panel on the roof that actually delivers a legit amount of power. Good job Toyota and this is from a truck guy.
Solar roofs are nice until rock chips or hail causes damaging negating any cost savings.
Yeah I won't lie, I quite like that.
As a driver, i make like 200-300 bucks after 50 miles, this makes solar very interesting to me, i live in sunny af oregon lol
I reviewed the new Toyota crown and a lot of the interior features are the same.
There’s still range anxiety and infrastructure questions? Hmmm, really? Range anxiety last for your first month or two….infrastructure question….oh really? I don’t know about that.
WHy hybrid Toyota, but looks sick agreed!
7 seconds 0-60 is a ton better than the older Prius at ~11 seconds. In addition, I would say that those of us over 60 yo remember the days when anything under 10 seconds was pretty fast.
Prius VI (Gen 3) has solar on top with a moon roof, however all the solar does is power a fan.
where the Volt left off, prius picked up.
Does the panel option cost more than it’ll ever save?
I LOVE the way this looks. I had an '08 Prius that I had for.. 6 or 7 years I think? I eventually traded it in for my current-drive '18 Chevy Bolt. It was close at the time whether or not I went to the EV, or bought a new hybrid. Might have gone with this if it was available at the time
YES i want one
This looks so good, can they just release an EV version of this design please?
Did he say a ton has not change and it's still slow? I have been in both current and past prius prime cars this one is waaaay faster. It's not slow dude!
still a prius and most car guys still think its ugly
This would look bad ass with a wide body!
Over and over, Marcus mentions what he thinks are the blockers to EV adoption, but even as an EV expert, he still has a surprisingly common blind spot: apartments. A huge % of people live in apartments (yes even the US shocking!), and a vanishingly small % of apartments offer adequate EV charging options.
How come it looks so damn sexy.
That's so informative
