Apologies for all the wind noise and terrible editing! And all the incorrect information… Watch at your own risk of boredom and possible loss of sanity.

The Slightly Shambolic Shuffles are back! This time, we are at the February 2023 Barons Classic Car Auction Sale Preview at Marchwood near Southampton. Be prepared for even more beige leather interiors, the inability to open an Audi bonnet, lots of vintage cars with dickey seats and generally very little of any consequence at all. Nothing untoward, then!

  1. That Maxi looked rather tidy and imagine with a clean up it will look rather nice.

That was a rather lovely looking Elan, looked really nice from the camera.

Think my favourite car has the be that Corvette and I am not a huge American car fan but just wow, only thing I do not like about it is the interior.

The Ford Cougar was rather lovely and in very good condition as was it's smaller brother the Puma.

A great little shuffle Sir, always enjoy these shuffles round the auction house.

  2. Excellent walk around MR Lloyd, some very fine cars indeed. The Audi V8 is such a handsome and lovely car. But my goodness gracious, the Maxi was ever so outdated by 1981.

  3. Thanks for another really interesting video. There was a wide variety of cars.
I am half way through the video and so far I share your approving taste for the Datsun ZX (?), the Jaguar Mk2 (would it not be great to see that restored?) and the Ford Cougar.
……and later, the Wolseley 1500. It's just so elegant, and in a small form. And then…Jaguar S-type! Yes, yes.

  4. I can remember that the Maxi 2 in the 1980s did feel well built, not the norm for BL, but have travelled in a 1981 cream 1750 HL. It was extremely comfortable on rough roads and the doors closed very well. To be honest most of the Maxis from the time looked quite like this blue one because they were well used due to their resilience and reliability. They were not a car that owners usually kept concourse.
That Audi V8 engine was very advanced and actually pumped the oil all around the engine from cold start. The build was Mercedes standard and the interior was beautiful. It was the dawn of the A8 which I now have the good fortune of owning. A true flagship.
The Ford Puma and Kuga are very underrated classics and I think that they may become sought after and very valuable. The Kuga in particular was very good looking and interesting alongside the Fiat Coupe, Honda Prelude, 3 Series Coupe, CLK, Nissan 200 SX, Peugeot 406/407.
The Chevy Suburban is family transport sorted out for certain.
The Range Rover 4.6 HSE looks amazing and well looked after over 25 years.

  5. Fine shuffling there, sir 😀 I did appreciate that Maxi. The way BL life-extended / repackaged elderly models like the Maxi, Allegro, Marina etc for the 80's does fascinate me for some reason 🤔
