Hope ya'll like the end. A quick correction! The prescription lenses are actually magnetic! So.. if you need a prescription change you just swap out the magnetic lens part.
4:29 Okay the glasses feature sold me $999 is worth if it actually fits my face and I don't have to wear glasses. But then again money isn't an issue for me
Is it ironic that it's called big screen, the smallest headset…..oh…..it cost 999$…….am dying lol
Why is it $999 and in EU €1369. That's insane
Big fat NOPE. I have a wife, kids, etc. We all share a $300 Quest. I'd have to get 4, $1,000 headsets. DUMB. This will die quickly.
I use VR for Sim Racing, at the money I have an HTC Vive Pro. This strikes me as a great replacement due to multiple factors, but mostly due to size and weight…for those long sessions. For now the price is too high to warrant a change, but that’s innovation for ya. Great review, thanks for that!
Well shit. I'm going to have to get one. Like you, I've wanted the smallest possible headset for ages, ditch the extra crap and go as small as possible without losing the enclosed feeling like the Quest Pro did. My only worry was how to get lenses that work for me, since I need prescription lenses in my headsets.
Only downside is SteamVR hardware is really annoying to get in NZ, and the worst thing is probably the fact a used market is gonna be basically impossible since the face gasket and the lenses are personalized to you
A headset to make head less heavy owo
To me it’s niche garbage. It’s not standalone and can be only manufactured to specific head and face. There will be some tiny little amount of customers but this will never be mainstream.
I do not have the money for that, especially since I do not own base stations or knuckles, but considering the computer I have, this is so enticing. If I had the money it would be an instant buy. Apart from the lack of wireless, this is the headset I always dreamed about… actually I did not even imagine a custom-made facial interface, this is beyond my dreams.
I already have base stations and knuckle controllers. I've been using the HP REVERB G2 and it's been great. It's just that this is better for me. 100% buying this. The weight and OLED screens are perfection. This is where PC VR should be heading.
sure, competition is good. But holy shit you'd have to be mad to get this over the FULL INDEX KIT for basically the same price
As someone who still used the quest one, watching you makes me sad xd
Looks awesome! Sad it doesn't have a better FOV but everything else sounds amazing. I want to pre order. Do you think the audio strap is worth it? Or just go with good headphones?
Honestly while it is pricey, this is going to be an instant cop for me when retail units come out and I can see reviews. A small/tiny form factor VR headset like this is something I've ALWAYS wanted in my life.
Sounds like an enterprise product. I guess as someone who doesnt yet have a VR headset outside of a plastic visor and a cellphone the best I can hope for is that this eventually redirects the industry toward better smaller hardware for the average user some day. I feel like many people were hoping things like base stations were finally a thing of the past when camera tracking was introduced, so maybe make it a little bigger and re-add the cameras and IPD control so we don't need an expensive custom unit? That couldn't hurt right?
Ahh man! I love VR! I think this would be awesome but that price tag is scary!!
Awesome. If I could afford it, I'd love to buy one. Nice to finally see a small VR headset.
It sounds good but kills the deal with no face and eye tracking… That's really a huge deal breaker for 2023… It's not worth upgrading from the index still…
What is out there that we could use to make this wireless? I just can't hook up now to the pc. I love being able to move without wires. Also, padded room helps.
Hey I was wondering if you could do a full game review on survival nation.
