VR ping pong has reconnected me with my high school ping pong buddies that live in other parts of the world now. Really cool stuff
No way, I've actually kinda done this. Started playing in eleven, six months later started in real life and I'm now playing in a real league in Scotland. I'm only division four but it's been a great journey and I'm having a lot of fun.
This is fantastic
Come
Pls coke to Nepal in Itahari-10 tower
Now I would like to see a 30 day challenge where a real-life table tennis player volunteers to only play Eleven Table Tennis for 30 days to determine if and how much his abilities decline in real life during that time.
This looks scripted.. she knew abt the game beforehand.
In my opinion: the game is good for learning the basics, but there are some differences. Like they say here: yes it learns you to play pingpong, but not tabletennis. To clarify: Yes you will be able to play a bit of tabletennis, but it is not enough to start playing competition. with the play ingame, if you do the same moves IRL, you will or play the ball in the net, or to return it, but return it that high, that your adversary can easily attack on it. Also Spin is treated in another way ingame than IRL, not to forget the wide variety of rubbers
The game ruined my irl I am playing the same In Game and in real life. 20 years gone. The coach is mad. ๐คฃ
Very nice. Great progress, super likeable. Please stay on the ball and keep training. It was a lot of fun to watch you. I will also try Eleven on my son's VR. ๐๐ป
This was fantastic! More Chloe please, her genuine enthusiasm was priceless
This is an amazing video, really creative content ๐Could this be the future of sports coaching!?
I had so much fun filming this with you, Dan. Canโt believe how much I improved! Never thought Iโd be so excited to get on a real table but absolutely loved VR! Anyone fancy a game?! ๐๐
good experiment. because our reality is not quite real, we are in the matrix.
content idea: turn her into a competitive player
BUT IF WE WANT TO FIND OUT WHO IS THE MOST COMPLETE PLAYER, WE HAVE THE SOLUTION: THE PING PONG NINJA ๐ฅท๐
A DIFDERENT WAY OF PLAYING. CRAZY BUT ALSO VERY HARD, JUST LIKE THESE VIDEOS HERE ๐
Great idea, great video! I am on eleven sometimes, it has its pros and cons…but is always fun to play with an adapter. But they should work on the physics …the table has too less impact on the bounce of the ball…but that really depends on how used you are to the real game.
Great video this was a very interesting experiment
Amazingโผ๏ธ๐
Absolutely incredible
Her improvement is madddd
Great stuff! What a massive improvement. Very good technique!
Hey Dan, great concept and really well made video! I was talking to friends about this and we were unsure: Up to wich player level would you say that virtual training can actually help you improve?
For beginners it obviously helps a lot. But how about a player on your level? Would you see a benefit for your own training overall or at least in certain areas?
Problem is it's ยฃ400. You could just buy an actual table.
Obv. the only problem really is that you cant see limb movement, hence the punchy driving problem that didn't get quite adressed until real life playing.
As a person who started playing Table Tennis with Eleven , I can proudly say it's a great and uncanny realistic game, the skills absolutely translate, but the best part is, you never have to get the ball
Good for her!
What was the training protocol?
This is awesome.
Great video idea Dan! The improvements made in such a short time were very impressive. I'm interested in giving it a go myself as getting out to play for real can be difficult for me, could anyone give me any info on what kind of hardware/software I need to get started? As I've never tried VR before. Thanks ๐
Great video! While I definitely wasn't as green as Chloe when I started ETT, I wasn't very experienced. I would very rarely play with my friends and could sometimes go years without playing and when I did I would just focus on only getting heavy spin on the ball because it was fun. I've had ETT for a bit but didn't really start getting heavily into it until about October of 2022 and I have certainly grown leaps in game and real life and am learning new techniques from experiments as well as the great community in the game. I have not signed up for club play yet but am certainly interested. I have access to a table at work that I play with a co-worker and I definitely see a carry over. I saw someone mention the weight of the ball in another comment and that was probably the same for me as well. I do feel I can swing a little harder in VR and get more out of my paddle than RL, though my paddle is about 13 years old at this point so that doesn't help. I use the SolidSlime adapter and it has worked great for me. Before getting it, my FH worked very well but I had issues adjusting to the angle of my backhand for some reason and was inconsistent. I really enjoy your ETT videos and hope to see many more!
This is really amazing! Considering how much harder it is to make it to a real table and play for an hour a day than it is to be at home and pick up a VR headset for an hour, I can really see this catching on.
Where did you find Chloe? She's a gem! I suspect it's one of your wife's friends haha. Incredible experiment Dan I can't believe the results.
Can't wait to put the skills I learned from TTD tutorials and the almost 2 years of playing ETT into action on a real table. Never played IRL but looking forward to it. I am absolutely hooked on TT. And as for TTD content, you guys are legends. One day I will loop like the Captain. Lol.
It really is a great video, I'm gonna comment twice ๐คฃ and do we need a name on her shirt now @TableTennisDaily ๐ค
Have you played ELEVEN table tennis? ๐
