Great video there. I am still trying to understand what is the 'business problem' that Meta is trying to solve? While I have successfully demonstrated its potential to clients it remains a significant cost for no real gain over existing tools. It also excludes a lot of people who are still unable or unwilling to give VR a real go in business circles.
Why are comparing with PIco 4? Pico is a Chinese company that emerged from a state-owned company and is very likely controlled by the secret service. This is 1000 times worse than Meta could ever be, as it comes from an authoritarian state. Anyone who buys something like this is just stupid.
I love my Quest 2. Thanks for the review; saved me £1499!
Don't purchase meta products if you have a headset under warranty the will ask you to send it back and they will send you a replacement then completely ignore you about the replacement once your headset is back at their warehouse you get no refund no replacement no one to contact at meta and literally only bots in their customer service chat that literally do not escalate your problem and your left 600 dollars out of pocket seriously the vive cosmos may cost 200 dollars more then the quest 2 but its worth compared to the dodgy lack of service that oculus/meta give you
$1500 and still no displayport lol. What a joke.
terrible review.
Here's my summation of the Quest Pro. Valve stated that the Index was intended to be the, "Ferrari of VR headsets." And that's what they delivered. An expensive, premium headset that was so ahead of its time we're still using it three years later. Then the Quest 2 came along, and sticking with the car analogy, was a Honda Civic. Sure, it didn't have anywhere near the features of the Index, but it was highly affordable, making your average consumer take notice of it. Then there's the Quest Pro. If the Quest 2 was a 2020 Honda Civic, the Quest Pro is a 2022 Honda Civic. Sure, there are tiny little incremental improvements, but the problem is that they're charging MORE than the price of a Ferrari. How they thought that strategy would succeed is beyond me.
this just seems a step back in almost every direction, such a shame. Hopefully they give us that quest 3 in the future with proper upgrades
Can I watch movies from my Samsung Note 10 plus from the headset
Wow, so as a Quest 2 user it seems I'd have to spend a small fortune to have a worse experience with the Pro? Well done Meta. It's a heavy pass for me.
Would you know if the meta quest pro can access vrchat pc worlds without connecting to a pc!
I don't think it's fair to compare the Quest Pro to the Quest 2, because it's not competing with the Quest 2 or any other VR headset. Its closest competitor is the MS HoloLense. I'd like to see that comparison in a "work" type environment.
Thanks! Now i know this will never be an option(for me)
I have a quest 2 just for gaming and developing, and to be honest, the only thing that bothered me really hard were the controllers, aiming with both hands and bringing the controller close to the face for better precision were always an issue, so if the meta pro controllers are coming with compatibility to the quest 2 as well and they can be bought separately, that's what I will be going forward to, the meta quest pro itself is more expensive than the valve index, as a south american with not a lot of money to spend, that's a big no
it is my understanding that the headset and hand controlers do not need to be fully charged to start using them. Additionally, it is my understanding that the headset and the hand controllers can be charged (also) while using them. You would need the wires to plug into them. it is also my understanding that this headset can be connected to a pc and run in PCVR mode with a usb-C cable just like a quest 2. And it is my understanding that the oculus software for the PC can run this headset. And I presume that also means Steam VR would also work with this headset.
Why no one tries foveated rendering games turn vrss on at nvidia settings and give it a test. Thst is exactly what that eye tracking is meant to for, every reviewer seems to make same mistake just to show avatars with eye tracking
pass through looks like being on acid.
I enjoy the irony of Meta abandoning PC and then demanding business PC users use their headset.
Ah Mike I just finished watching your review on the quest pro I was happy to hear your thoughts I figured and I'm a tad happy to hear you say it wasn't really worth the upgrade I thought about upgrading at one point but glad to say I don't think I need to after watching your take on it cheers Mike
Sigh…why only psvr got adaptive trigger…so unfair
