  1. I had a Nexus tablet when Google was still making them and that thing was a tank. I remember dropping it so many times in college without a case and it never shattered, had two sim slots, serviceable battery, and a storage expansion slot. I hope the new tablets are still well built instead of "cutting edge" but snaps like a twig.

  2. Finally making the switch to Google's ecosystem and bought the 7 Pro, Cellular Watch, and Buds Pro as soon as they went on preorder.

Not saying I was in Apple's ecosystem, I just have been getting Motorola's flagships for the last decade.

    Can't wait

  3. They made large bezel so that next year they can update the watch and one of the main specs would be that they reduced the bezels!!! What a cliche! And the year after they discontinue it because why not?! Switch to Apple after buying the Pixel 3 and 4 and waiting an eternity for a watch!! And for the tablet…they will discontinue it as well in 2 to 3 years…. They're too good at discontinuing things.

  4. Wouldn't this metal visor of the camera module makes the phone more disbalanced distribution of weight and feels bit heavier at the upper side?

  5. The slow charging is a deal breaker for me.

20w on the Pixel 7 and 23w Pixel 7 Pro (confirmed in the small text under the phones on their website).

I was really hoping for around 60w this time around.

  6. I am very very bummed how somehow the pixel 7 can crop 12.5 out of the 50 mp sensor but pixel 6 somehow couldn't (??!) and likely will not even get that "feature". When I bought a pixel 6 last year I was specifically motivated by the fact that it must obviously be very good at 2x zoom, but got disappointed.

  7. lol thanks for calling out their bullshit. At least Apple doesn't boast when competitors copy their ideas. But their competitors cannot help themselves. And keep mocking Apple when they remove something but then follow them 6 months later, like the headphone jack or charger. Always desperate for a bit of publicity.

  8. A smartwatch battery should last for a week. Anything below 2 days is a joke. Loved my original galaxy watch because of it and wouldn't have "upgraded" if I hadn't broken it.

  9. Phone are so boring that's unbelievable. On the upside, now I can keep mine for 4 years and still have what's best out there without looking out dated. That's how stale the smartphone game is.

  10. I use my Galaxy watch 4 mostly for notifications, alarms, and lastly sleep tracking. Workout stuff is simply not interesting to me, especially steps counting which you somehow can't turn off!! I love the crown that can scroll, but otherwise, I'm happy with my purchase and wouldn't switch to the pixel watch, cuz there's nothing else interesting to me. Real bummed out the watch turned out to be such a dud

  11. Unlocking your phone with your face was available on other phones long before iPhone (and yes I know the tech used was different but the idea was already there before Apple introduced their version)

I would also argue that improving the zoom capabilities on a camera phone or adding more megapixels / higher resolution is not "innovation" and using it as an example of one phone company copying another phone company is a bit of a stretch. Phone companies in general are constantly improving their cameras in different ways as more and more it’s becoming the USP of a mobile phone. If they’re copying anyone it would be standalone DSLR camera manufacturers.

In contrast, "always on display", "car crash detection" and "night mode" are actually proper mobile phone / camera innovations. TLDR: I think you could have used better examples from your "Google copied Apple" part (but perhaps it's telling that you couldn't find any better ones)

  12. Thank you so much for calling out google for their dumb apple stabs… and soooooo good you threw that right back at in their faces 👍 maybe you aren’t as much of a delusional androidfanboy as I though

  13. I see potential in the tablet for smart homes. With the dock it could be a good one to run dashboards for Home Assistant / Hubitat while still being a regular tablet when needed. Not with a $499 price tag though, so I hope they make a light cheaper version of that as well someday.
