    The only way this should happen, is if the team that makes it through top bracket without a loss gets a 1-0 lead and side choice advantage.

    Yeah, but the World Cup also happens every 4 years so are they then gonna do that? Wouldn't it be better to model it after the champions league? Although its not double elimination, you play on two different days so even if you perform bad on one day, you can pull off an unbelievable comeback to win the second leg (Liverpool vs Barcelona, Barcelona vs PSG, Juventus vs Athletico.) In all these games, one team was basically down and out in the first game, and it was "do or die." And they did.
    Second leg is most like double elimination so I would much rather see that.

20. 1st and 2nd seed from groups go to winners bracket, 3rd seed straight to losers. Worlds is so hype during groups but then slows down with only matches on the weekend. With double elim you can have a match every day without extending the length of the tournament. It only comes once a year, give us more games!
