Watching this on my Studio Display, and guess what… Not a good deal. Nice nice nice monitor. Not a good deal.
this is your best video
Good on You Marques ,I was really looking forward to these display's such a disappointment! You could buy 2 dell 4k displays a blue yeti. opal cam and a Mac mini M1 !!!
I can't help but kind of think Apple was really working on a new 27" iMac or even iMac Pro and then halfway through it became the Studio Display. In fact, I'm curious if anyone manages to hack the thing to run macOS on it. It's not an M1, but the A13 should be close enough, and 64GB of internal storage is enough for the OS and a few programs.
All good points, Marques. As far as the "good deal" question, since the closest thing to this monitor is the LG 27" 5K and both share that nice sweet spot of 5K at a size that make them razor sharp, perhaps the not-good-deal is the LK? For the extra $300, you get some pretty great speakers, a bit more brightness, some other perks, but mostly, as stated, that over the top Apple industrial design. I hate to admit it, but I'm a sucker for that. (Damn you, Apple!) I was certainly hoping for more (like something that would forever put the LG in the discount bins, or a 30" model!) but this is what Apple fans got. Disappointing, but a bad deal? I might get one, but I probably won't be in love with it. And that's probably Apple's biggest mistake with this monitor.
Given the build quality and speakers, it should've been priced $150-$200 over the LG sibling
Roman Reigns.
Apple yet to produce a speaker because you can't 'see' Apple logo in sound and music
Saw it in-store and walked out empty-handed.
Apple people are so dumb, they will buy this and think it is amazing.
Good Video!
I was really excited for this. I've been holding off on replacing my 4 monitors because I figured Apple would be coming out with somehting worth considering. Instead they came out with a mountain of hubris, and not much else. I can't say I'm surprised, after the pro display… but I'm disappointed. I've always hated the argument that Apple products are for people with more money than brains, but for this one, I have to agree.
Everything from Apple right now like the iPhones, iPads, Macbooks, Macs, are incredible. Powerful, sleek, and just excellent to use overall.
Then we have this.
My monitor also is in metal and sturdy and has holes for heat. It was 200 dollars.
Ok.
guys
do not buy the monitor
Apple finally need to understand that customers have brains and won't buy a monitor that can't be unplugged, on which if you want to move the stand you have to give more money.
I thought the stand can allow you to make the monitor vertical. Just makes it a little bit higher for $400.
I cant believe that you forgot to talk about the mics again
yeah no shit sherlock, with those specs was it really a point of debate?
