8. That’s not correct about the VPN. Using your name and address will make no difference because they can track the payments back to you anyway. It just doesn’t matter if they know you have a subscription to that VPN, what matters, and it’s paramount, is the VPN server stores no data so when the FBI coming knocking the VPN has nothing to give them. It also needs to be known if you log into a server that knows your identity and then commit a dodgy act on another server, while connected via the VPN with the same IP, they can connect the dots like that, maybe that’s what happened.
