  1. Bought the Z Fold 3 just last month. I would have bought the Duo last year if its software wasn't absolute garbage. Microsoft is too little too late on this one.

  2. I feel like it’s comparative to the iPad. The surface isn’t a replacement for a phone. The iPad isn’t a replacement for a phone. You probably won’t take your surface out to purposefully take photos and videos. I think that’s a fantastic layout for the surface. If you’re using it for filming and photography, you’re crazy.

  3. Rotating camera horizontally on the top above the screen (think Samsung A80 without the slide mechanic) would be a winner on the design. If they ported the Lumia camera software over it would be great

  4. Probably the most un-researched fold decision ever. I don't know what were the engineers even thinking while making this. Even the hardware has a lot of flaws let alone the software. You are basically paying a bomb for the hinge 🤷

  5. the design was better before. The idea was better when you could leave it unfolded to act as if it were a regular phone and then use the second one only when necessary. they just needed a better camera and better specs. If you need a camera bump in order to have a good camera, then this design will never work. if Microsoft can make a camera that is flush and good, then it has potential

  6. Jesus Christ, it feels like they just got tired of thinking and said fuck it, it's a done product without any regards to the usability

  7. 2 things that kills the giants like Nokia, LG, HtC : relevancy and poor marketing..
Sony probably closer to ends their phone line, cause to be honest their phone are not selling enough.. sony strategy to market their phone as a professional photographer specialized phone is the major problem and the expensive price won't help either..

  8. They should keep the upgraded camera inside aka the selfie camera . And have add a mini oled display on the outside for notification . That’s all .

  9. Microsoft is cheapening the Surface brand with this device (of course, we're not talking about the price here). Who is this device for? Not really anyone, except hardcore Surface and Microsoft fans (and I'm a huge fan, but not that huge to purchase this travesty).

I honestly think this thing would make for a great Xbox device; the Xbox Surface. Remove the camera and the bloat. Make a simple Xbox UI and device that allows for streaming. 1080p display with HDR, dynamic refresh rate (60 to 120hz), 8Gb of RAM, decent processor, headphone jack, maybe some wireless charging, USB C, Bluetooth for other controllers, the ability to run Steam and/or the Play Store, and integrate some state-of-the-art, next level haptics into the screen, as there's no physical buttons or joysticks. Sell it for $199 and include a code for 1 or 3 months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate with Xcloud, and voila…you've got yourself a winner.

  10. That shirt is majorly distracting. Great review, not so great feeling by the shirt trying to shake it while watching because I know it's not what I think.

  11. The reviewers need to understand that this device is not for everyone. It’s a very targeted device. This fact is simply ignored by almost all the reviewers.

  12. Sigh….. I really wanted MS to get this right. The courier concept was so damn cool. That camera bump is MASSIVE. I think they would have done better to just make it thicker overall.

  13. To be honest marques i think that Microsoft approche is more logical than Samsung's beacause i find that that foldable concept is more close to tablet can fit in the pocket than a smartphone

  14. This device should have a mechanical pop-up camera… which would have solved quite a lot of complaints and would have allowed the flat-folding.
the bezel needs to go away – not just reduced like in this one. That is the only way people will not feel the obvious split in between.
The curved screen might have been added for the time thing – but it's not needed – just keep that flat. Also, put a small LED display on top to show time and notification. With all these changes – it will be a desirable device.
@Marques Why dont you write your ideas to Microsoft team – I am sure it will be noticed 🙂

  15. Make the screen smaller. I really want this phone, but I'm not going to cary around a tablet. Make it the size of 2 iPhone 13 minis. You don't need to make it huge.

  16. still no until it looks like a oneplus 7 pro (display wise) it has even less excuses to have a chin that big since there is not even a selfie camera but if there is it should be a pop up or under screen camera

  17. I think they should lean in on the tablet side and not worry about it as a phone. Just make a really powerful tiny table. Maybe give it window. I think it could make a great secondary device

  18. I feel like complaining that you have to open it up to take a picture, is like complaining about having to open up a laptop to use it. But even doing so makes the experience of taking a picture better, because you immediately know you took a bad picture on the other screen. It's suppose to be a new form factor, not a great phone.
