  1. Tesla bots could be building lunar or Mars bases. I imagine human operators of semi-autonomous Tesla androids like drone pilots. Tesla's bots working in space, no space suit required, control via 1st person augmented reality from a ground station.

  2. Gotta disagree a little bit. Yes it would make sense to develop a robot for a specific task. But just like how FSD is aimed at all consumers compared to lidar which only works to where their maps are scanned. In Tesla's case it may be best to develop an all purpose robot that can do general work(not awesome work, but sufficient enough work) but at a much lower price point. Mass produce + higher demand, would mean cheaper prices, compared to buying robots used in factories. Also if not mistaken, current robots have really expensive hardware, to compensate anything lacking in software.

  3. While the machines that does the actual work can be smart, there is a limit to its capability. The washing machine or dishwasher cannot auto-load nor can an AI vacuum cleaner clear up obstacles from the floor for to get started. This is where the humanoid comes in and fills that gap enabled these machines to fulfill their purpose without human intervention. The way I see it, both AI based machines as well as humanoids will evolve and can co-exist in fully automated world. By the way I dont mind a humanoid managing my car – take it to repairs, cleaning, driving, changing the flat tyre etc as long as it is safe!

  4. I see your point of robots shouldn’t look like humans in order to be more efficient for a single task but in this case, where they want for the robot to be able to complete many different tasks i think its better like this because not only we wont need to have in our homes 10 different robots but also it will be more easy to make a single robot to do all of these tasks

  5. As someone who lives with a disability and uses a wheelchair, there are numerous advantages to having a humanoid robot to assist with everyday tasks. Rather than having 10 specialized robots, one that can do 10 or more tasks well would be much better. And over time, the tasks they can do will expand as they learn. You said it yourself, the world is built around the human form so it makes sense to build a robot with that same form to have the same ease of access that all we do.

  6. Marques, you don’t see the big picture for the bot, this bot will ba able to do 70-90% of what humans do physically, of course it takes time.
But the potential is huge, why have a robot for very task, instead one robot for all tasks? ?

  7. A human shaped robot makes every device it uses basically a robot. Your car will be self driving… your screwdriver is then … yea… a robot. So I can see why they do it.

  8. Will i can see how a humanoid robot can be more effective than a specialized one if the tasks are unknown let's say if you send robots to outer space since that is related to SpaceX a humanoid robot will simulate what we have done in our history how we adapteded to different environments and the ability to create new different tools and use them.

  9. How about MARS. This bot could help settlers do manuals labor on Mars. Youcould send 4 ppl to surface but has man pwer of 100. Its need no air, no food,

  10. its likely going to be used in manufacturing, possibly security.
i can see a few thing, send tesla bots to the moon/mars.
in that context or even on earth, you could probably control them like a avatar.
    especially with the neurolink implant.
maybe even in the future upload your mind to a tesla bot.

  11. Tesla IS a car company not a software company and elon musk is a fraudster and he gets support for anything says be will do which he has non of or has done to a very bad standard. He never keeps his word and rakes in the cash because of this.

  12. I feel there is no need for a Tesla bot cuz as u had give an example using the Tesla bot for house old purposes like cleaning we don’t need to humanoid robot to have vacuum in its hand , we can haVa a robot to only specialist in that example ecovacs

  13. I gotta disagree a little bit with you Marques. This robot would be perfect to hold my place in line at Six Flags. No more flashpass!! ??

  14. You're right. The approach to tesla bot is what is called general purpose ai. It's not easy to design an ai which can do everything. We could build ai for doing specific tasks and they could be put to use in different form factors. The human form factor doesn't help in anyway. The only thing that would make sense, absolutely is if they will be weaponising the bots and use them for combat. Very specific use case, which explains the form factor as well.

  15. May be for Space… again we have rovers to explore the Mars and therefore no point of sending these humanoid.. May be for military purpose again we have drones and what about hospitality industry to meet and greet… ?
