Toyota Highlander Hybrid: newsroom.toyota.eu/toyota-launches-refined-7-seater-highlander-hybrid-in-europe/

Fully redesigned for the 2020 model year, the new generation Highlander Hybrid finally launches in Europe, trying establish Toyota as Europe’s largest hybrid SUV supplier.

Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross: mitsubishi-motors.com/en/newsrelease/2020/detail1304.html

2021 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross PHEV boasts an evolved Dynamic Shield grille, sleeker headlights and a more prominent bumper. According to Mitsubishi, the crossover uses the same drivetrain setup as the Outlander PHEV. This means a combo of a 2.4-litre four-cylinder, 2 electric motors, and a large capacity 13.8 kWh battery.

Honda HR-V Hybrid: hondanews.eu/eu/en/cars/media/pressreleases/329141/honda-takes-the-wraps-off-all-new-hybrid-hr-v

Already revealed in Japan in gas and hybrid iterations, the European HR-V will go on sale exclusively as a hybrid model. Most of the crossover’s performance numbers will remain under wraps until the production commences in late 2021, but Honda has confirmed that the upcoming HR-V will source the 1.5 four cylinder engine with two electric motors from the Jazz.

Acura MDX: acura.com/mdx

The all-new 2022 Acura MDX occupies a flagship position in the current Acura crossover range and arrives with a longer wheelbase, new suspension setup, and an available performance-focused Types S version.

Nissan Pathfinder: nissanusa.com/vehicles/future-concept/2022-pathfinder.html

Still based on Nissan’s D-platform for mid-size cars, the 5th generation 2022 Nissan Pathfinder returns to its rugged SUV roots, at least in terms of exterior looks. The model loses around 1.5 inches in length while becoming half an inch taller and wider. These changes in dimensions create a more muscular silhouette, accentuated by larger tires, prominent fender cladding and a faux skidplate.

Nissan Armada 2021: nissanusa.com/vehicles/crossovers-suvs/armada.html

This 8-seater specifically designed for the North American market is a close relative to the dune conquering Nissan Patrol.

Also known as the Rogue sport, the compact crossover Nissan Qashqai transitions to the third generation and consequently adds about an inch in all directions.

Inspired by the original FX coupe-SUV, but based on the current QX50, this is an all-new model in Infiniti’s stables. In addition to its sloping roofline, the QX55 sports a much more aggressive exterior styling, sporty 20-inch wheels, and standard AWD.

Infiniti QX60: usa.infinitinews.com/en-US/releases/release-181c4997b62446a5403b3e666574217f

The 2022 Infiniti QX60 7-seater is being redesigned from the ground up this year. Though it still keeps the old underpinnings, the model promises more dramatic styling, new transmission, improved cabin tech, and of course, higher towing capacity.

Toyota Venza: toyota.com/venza

You won’t recognize the new Venza that was once imprisoned in the minivan form. This time, the moniker makes a comeback as a mid-size crossover with an exclusive hybrid powertrain.

  1. Massive front overhang on the Toyotas and Hondas betray FWD platforms.
The Venza's giant pointy nose almost needs a bra. The Mitsubishis just look cartoonish.
Only the Pathfinder looks promising despite the FWD platform.
As always, Japanese stylists have no idea how to be distinct without making a visual mess.

  2. MY car of choice was, and I really liked the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross, but people need to think long and hard after the life of the battery, to replace this vehicles battery being a PHEV is…$21,000, excluding labor costs, so for this reason, I had to pass on buying it..

People really need to dive in and check out what the real costs are and the real potential costs later on.

  3. LOL, every single interior has the stupid aftermarket looking tablet style infotainment screen sticking up the dash.

  4. I can only buy SUV's with very decent ground clearance, over 10", and all these "cool" new SUV's fail miserably in their ground clearance department. I understand it's for better mileage and all, but what's the point buying a new SUV that gets damaged in deep ruts and wheel grooves in the country roads and boonies. So, I am forced to buy another Jeep Wrangler Sahara exactly because Japanese SUV's can't clear the barriers and unplowed country roads in winter. Such a pity though, the ground clearance was better in vehicles of 50's 60's and 70's than it is now by large margin lol….

  5. The Outlander and all Mitsubishi’s are weird and gaudy, Pathfinder is so-so, HRV is nicely understated with weird wheels, Acura vehicles do nothing for me, Highlander, (and most Toyotas in general) are and always have been poorly designed, Rogue sport is mildly appealing to me, Infinity exterior is kinda nice with an improved interior, Armada is too extra,

  6. All of the worst car manufacturers have the best looking vehicles. If they put this much effort into the reliability of their vehicles as much as they do the looks, then they would completely destroy companies like Toyota and Honda in sales.

  7. Muscular fenders.. hmm. SUVs like this are often driven by clinically obese people. Do they like muscular features on their cars? If so why?

  8. Acuda is my favorite except that 2nd 3rd seat row missing is the infotainment of screen at the back of the seat or ceiling screen for passenger.

  9. Why are they just teasing me with the QX60 Monochrome. If the 2022 QX60 has the same looks and lines, I want one. If it is a Hybrid…home run!

  11. Toyota went backwards a bit on the Highlander front end. Liked the previous one better. Thought about the Nissan, but the ZF 9 spd has its problems.

  12. The front badge destroyed the Acura MDX, they should really redesign it. The vehicle looks awesome otherwise. Love the flat loading bay.
