Why mount it on the top? Mounting to the bottom makes so much more sense, even if the image was then upside down you'd only need to flip it in post. There's a perfectly good reason why drones don't have their cameras awkwardly strutting upwards ?

Would LOVE to see "Stabilized" 3D footage of really cool landmarks like a Dam or monument or something like that…the racing drone footage is cool and all…but that bigger drone with more stability would give awesome immersion in the 3D space!

You need to use the insta360 plugin for aftereffects/premiere, you don't have to stich and you can use preimeres VR tools to do horizon correction and such. The gopro VR reframe plugin is also great for tiny planet stuff!
