DJI Mavic Mini: In-Depth Hands-On Review

Pricing & Full Specs: http://bit.ly/flyasyouare

The DJI Mavic Mini is changing the way we look at flying cameras.
It’s the smallest Mavic drone yet but does not skimp on features.
It has a 3-axis mechanical gimbal, a 12 megapixel camera that shoots 2.7k video and many other features that you’d find in higher cost drones. And its small size and weight make it very appealing. It might just be the perfect first drone for new pilots!

This video takes an in-depth look at this new drone – the camera – the flight characteristics – the new DJI Fly app – the accessories – the footage – and much more! If you are considering buying your first drone or just want a smaller camera drone for travel, you should definitely check out the DJI Mavic Mini and this video will give you a good idea of what to expect!

  1. Great review the mini looks like it should fit in the lineup nicely, not quite the camera and avoidance of the full size Mavics but excellent flight time, distance and the footage looks really good so perfect for a starter drone keep up the great videos and fly safe

  2. I have a Spark, and now im jealous cuz this drone does the exact same stuff, but 2X as good in most areas. Im upgrading to a Mavic Pro 1 soon, but the Sparks flight time is the worst thing about it bay far. The increased range on the Mavic Mini is really cool.

  3. Can't decide between this or mavic air for an upgrade from my spark due to living in a windy area with average wind of 20 to 30km/h and the mavic air is also on special for 1000 aud were I live or this for 799 aud

  4. Does anyone know if this drone is completely exempt from all FAA rules/guidelines because it weighs less than 250g? Or is it still subject to flying guidelines because it still is an aircraft? That would be great if it was unregulated because of the weight.

  5. Nice review I think its going to be initially poplar because its not subject to the same rules as heavier drones. I am very happy with Mavis 2 so I don't see one of these in my future at this time.

  6. Not sure about this Kelly, it looks kinda cheap build wise and DJI in the Fly More is including 18 screws. That’s never happened with anything before, why now? That just makes me question that build quality again. You don’t want your drone flying apart from vibration. No obstacle avoidance? At least the Spark has it. Also I know the Spark is heavier but that thing really bounces around in the wind, it doesn’t blow away but wow. That gimbal better be real good to stop that jello. It seems like they cut corners to bring the weight down but forgot that price begets value. 500.00 for the Fly More seems high to me. I have a Air and Spark, did have a P3SE but sold it after I discovered how happy I was with the Air. Why pay this much for their version of a toy? First time buyers for sure will want this, Pilots and Pros I think gonna be a much harder sell. Great video!

  7. Big tip of the day. Mark the top of the USB micro plug that plugs into the controller or newbies will definitely force the plug a few too many times and ruin the connection. Something Rick did from Drone Valley back when he messed up his Mavic Pro connection. I used bright orange tape, nail polish or even a solder iron burn , something. Why wouldn't DJI use a C cord for these connections. Grrr

  8. They should have added all 4 way obstacle avoidance, it would have made this thing safer and so much better. My spark even has forward, but wish it had all directions.

  9. Awesome, finally a good drone under the FAA weight bias. Skipped the Mavic Pro's due to the redtape laws, knew it was coming glad it was finally released, take my money please. πŸ™‚

  10. Great video on the Mini. Hoping to get one for Xmas. I'm glad you gave it a good review. Still love my P4 though. Nice to see your family in the video too.

  11. Thank you for all the info. I am looking to purchase my first drone and this one may be the one for me. I am curious about the GPS vs. the Occusynch though. I don't know anything about that and so I am nervous that the GPS might not be as reliable???? I live in the Lakes Region of NH. Your thoughts would be much appreciated.
