thought you were gonna hit that kite at 4:53… good review!
That arcade mode seams pretty cool
I used to live my bebop 1 and 2 back in the day. I think it had a bank setting
Really beautiful looking turns in cinematic mode!
Just checked the price for the entire kit…$800 more or less.
Those features they include make the anafi more quality and more capable for more things. Good review
I GOT SOME JUST NOW, I HAVE THE SAMSUNG VR BUT THEY DONT WORK WITH THEM BECAUSE THEY USE THE USB PORT BUT SOME CHEAP ONES WORK.
Thanks for this. I have a set of those goggles branded by Tactic and they look a lot alike. Never even had the box open but I think I'll break them out soon and see what I see. You and a few others have helped me more than you realize so thank you for that.???
Well, it look to be quite fun.
Do you know if it's possible to do the same with the Mavic 2 ?
By the way, I received my Mavic 2 yesterday and I made two flight this morning (before going to the job). I would like to thank you for your work because , with the videos of 3 others guys on Youtube, you helped me to make my choice. And I think I made a really good decision, thanks yours videos 😀
Fantastic flight thanks for sharing O I got your T Shirt pretty cool ? love it ? and let’s keep on Droning ??. You have a great weekend a Canadian ???????????
I wonder if other manufacturers will follow suit and do a software update for vr mode…like Hubsan for the Zino.
Thanks Captain. Good piece of kit for the price.
I cannot decide on Anafi or Fimi X8 for next drone fimi seems like it would handle windy conditions better but parrot has some good features other drones don't have .
Newbie question but how do you fix action cam go pro to your hat?
Really good info, I just upgraded my Anafi yesterday and tried some of these modes. I have several fpv goggles that I can use so like you said, I don't need to buy another quad to get these new features to work.
Finally a proper review on new mode of Anafi. I looking forward to buy this drone. The first GPS drone capable of doing FPV style mode….everyone caught by surprise including DJI which i believe they follow it soon
Of course. Parrot needs to just throw in the Towel.
??????
Interesting Arcade mode resembles most console flight sim game controls .
Not sure how popular Parrots version will be .
A bit like attaching a 4k camera to an RC Aircraft similar results
Great review, as usual. One thing: it would be useful if the reviews included a rough idea of the price of the drones being featured 🙂
Great video! 🙂
Nice show Captain. Thx for the review buddy! ????
Great information Steve. Will you be getting the Anafi with the flir camera ?
The button in the Parrot goggles activates the customized menu. It's a capacitive button so no electronics. The App has a location on the screen that lines up with the button and when you press the button it activates the menu. I guess it is to allow for easy access of the menu without fumbling around on the remote.
Parrot did the same thing with their previous headsets. It works but so does using the controller…. So just another option.
Parrot also had the banking turn/dynamic horizon feature with their FreeFlight Pro app for the Bebop 2. But they didn't have the Arcade mode.
I'm glad Parrot seems to be keeping at least the Anafi alive for consumers. I think it might be a tad expensive but it's still a fantastic drone for the money. Heck, I still love my Bebop 2 for fun and games.
I think Arcade mode would actually be incredibly advantages for some awesome sport following shots if you weren't using Follow Me and the camera was able to be controlled by head movement! That would be sweet. But Parrot should also invest in Obstacle Avoidance. I realize they are trying to keep costs down but they should add the option. They have an add on unit called the S.L.A.M. which was able to be affixed to the Bebop 2 and allowed for some of the best Obstacle Avoidance at the price point for the drone. Unfortunately the unit was $2000!!!! I also realize Parrot doesn't want to copy DJI but really they just need to add things like head tracking and Obstacle Avoidance among other things. Still I love the Anafi.
Hi there. Parrot´s cockpit glasses version2 (from the Bebop 2) work very well on the Anafi. They are "colapsable", in other words, they shrink and are very lightweight, great to transport along with the anafi. I have teh generation 1 Anafi and everything checks as ok. Keep up the great videos Captain 😉
Captain, Thanks for quickly reviewing the Anafi's new FPV features. Parrot just keeps making the Anafi better and better. Like a glass of fine wine. They've made so many significant software enhancements to the Anafi software over the last year and the FPV mode is yet another great innovative enhancement.
In addition to the new FPV software capabilities the new Anafi FPV Pack does give you a few minor new drone hardware updates….none of which are required to take advantage of the new FPV software capabilities).
The new Anafi FPV hardware (v2) is now apparently based on the Anafi Thermal hardware platform (less the thermal camera of course). This new Anafi v2 (Thermal platform) has a few minor differences as compared to the original Anafi v1 hardware. Namely:
a) The Anafi v2 drone is slightly lighter…coming in at 315gm vs 320gm;
b) The legs of the Anafi v2 are a bit thicker than the Anafi v1 version (and presumably more robust);
c The Anafi v2 gets you 26min of flight time vs 25min for Anafi v1;
d) The Anafi v2 is a bit faster than 34mph vs 33mph for Anafi v1;
These are obviously minor improvements but improvements nevertheless. They are probably significant for Parrot as that allows them to converge on a single hardware platform and streamline their manufacturing and parts pipeline for the Anafi family.
It is my understanding ( to be confirmed) that you can use the Bebop 2 Cockpitgoggles v2 to give you almost all of the capabilities of Anafi FPV Cockpitgoggles v3 goggles except there is no "extra" bottom button on the Cockpitgoggles v2…this bottom goggle button when clicked allows you to switch your goggle view to the back facing camera view. This is really helpful because the goggle view using the back facing camera eliminates the need to take off your goggles if you become disoriented with the goggles or you just need to find your drone in the sky…just click the Cockpitgoggles v3 bottom button and you basically see what you would see if you weren't wearing the goggles. It is my understanding that they've added a VR overlay/pointer for that back camera view to help you quickly locate your drone in the sky….which I think is super clever.
Cheers.
