Seen this plot before. Guy running to deliver a message to stop a hopeless assault in WWI… Gallipoli, 1981. Guess this is the British version of the (probably much better) Australian movie….

I only hope more serious movies are made about the heroics, sacrifices, horrors and magnitude of what was World War 1. Compared to WW2, it's a shame how underrepresented this war is in Hollywood.

The fact that 56,000 men were killed, injured and maimed on the first day of the Battle of the Somme in July 1916 would have been a far better plot than 1,600 men.
