We meet the tech-loving thrill-seekers behind the sport who want to turn it into the next big thing. (Video by Austin Brown and Tom Gibson)(CORRECTION: An earlier version of this video incorrectly stated that a portion of the prize money was given to the winning team’s sponsor, Tornado.)

  1. I am 39 years old. When I was 7, RC cars were all the rage. Everybody had one. The number one reason why everyone wanted one is because they were fun. This right here is pretty creepy. Does drone racing really need to go the way of F1? Flying to Dubai for a $1M racing prize isn't entirely too excessive for a hobby? This is more like social engineering by oil sheiks and corporations.

  2. Always video issues at championships. Don't get me wrong. It is amazing what the VTX manufacturers have done so far. I just can't wait till it gets better.

  3. amazed at 5.08 into the video, lady's in short short, T shirts and NO burkas covering there body. and the local church did not have them (self censored for pc) attended to.. but the real money here is in the "off track" betting.

  4. In the future you will use satellites and your cellphone to control the drone controller which will be attached to the drone. Then you can fly anywhere. Solar panels that charge while in flight. People will try to fly across the oceans. I see the future. Super highways in the sky.

  5. I want to build a big drone and fly around in it.

Oh wait, we already have those. Aren't they called helicopters? Yeah silly comment I know. But the video itself is silly.
