  1. Thanks so much for this video JB! I decided I’m going to try racing this season and couldn’t really find anything on the behind the scenes of racing and what to expect your first race and pointers for noobs like me. Sure there’s a bunch of quality pilots that show their racing footage and practice sessions (John E Fly, Captain Vanover, Justin Skinner to a name a few) and that’s a big help too for sure but this is the first video showing pretty much how the race runs both while your flying and in the pits. Definitely helped ease my nerves about competing in some of the local races in my area. Maybe when I go to IO this year I’ll do a video for rookies like me showing exactly what it’s like from check in to till the end of the event and everything in between. ? Great stuff as always JB. Keep up the good work! ??

  2. If I go to a race and I am so slow that I am slowly tiptoeing through the gates, are the pros going to be annoyed that I am in the way, or are they so good they can just dodge me and they wont mind me being there?

  3. Can you actually give advice with race rigs as for a close track race build. Long track efficient build. Fast track race build, and last, what build would be good with all around balance and with gopro. Im getting into racing but there is no easy info as to what race builds are good for in their own criteria. Thanks for the video and any info related to this would be really appreciated. I dont like watching other peoples video for information as much as I do from you.

  4. I would say don’t be intimidated. We all have been new. At least the races I have attended, everyone is cool and not going to be a dick to you.

  5. I’ve had that sound come and go depending on the tune. I don’t think you can prove it’s unique to the Floss. I personally don’t fly the Floss…but regardless I’m not sure why you called out the frame in the title.

  6. i only do freestyle flying but want to get into racing next summer. would you suggest building a race specific quad or just get into it with one of my freestyle setups? ive never raced before so i only have freestyle rigs

  7. Very educational. This looks like the equivalent of a neighborhood football game… very friendly. Nothing like a "Professional" football game. In bigger races (more prestige and bigger prizes) is there security? Do you have field security (a spotter) in case a kid runs out onto the field? Do you rope off the pilots and spotters and put security behind them to prevent getting distracted or touched (wink wink asked in reference to a video with the comments turned off)? Perhaps this fledgling sport has grown to the point where it is time to arrange security like they do for other big sporting events.

  8. In the beginning, you mentioned you would show people's pit set ups, but didn't get to that. It would be cool to see what people bring and how they set up. Cool video, I guess I'm lucky that the local NWFPV folks (Portland, OR) are really cool, I haven't raced yet but have been to practices and they were super helpful getting me past the initial terror.
