1. Bitcoin won't become worthless, since there will always be goods and services presented for them – including illegal ones. A part of people who spent real money on it, be it through direct cash, goods sold, or electricity, will always hold it in value. Bitcoin was the first, the most trusted (as a concept), and will be the last cryptocurrency to fall, which means they must all fall, which I simply don't see happening. That being said, I don't expect to see it rise in value astronomically. The market is saturated, the days of easy mining are gone, and alternative cryptocurrencies are competing. The bubble will not burst, but it will not grow either.

   Just my 2 cents. Time will tell..

The lack of regulations and/or approval of an ETF tells us the banking incumbents simply do not want these things, at least not right now. The long term play is to usurp these networks, gain control over the lion-share of the users, sell the users' data for many multiples of the value of the token themselves, position themselves as logical custodians of the coins and rebuild the current banking system using a digital currency.
