  1. I really liked the story mode, enjoyed every second of the cinematics, and was generally fine with the voice acting.

I thought it we're a master class in fighting game story modes, and wished more would aspire to this. Not everybody lives in a situation where they have a rotating couch of fighting game player's, or even decent internet connection making online undesireable. Story mode is all I got for entertainment and I'm glad Netherrealm takes the time and effort and figure out a several hour story mode per game.

  2. I find it ironic that everyone complains about the story mode in this game, yet it's far superior in both writing and voicing to its predecessor MK9. Apart from one aspect (Takeda and Jacqui falling in love) which is dropped in at the last moment and feels very forced, the story was interesting and sufficiently developed all the main characters. It serves the same purpose as the little character intros and endings you'd see in the original fighting games. It's developed just enough for you to be somewhat invested in the characters when you play them in the ladder, or at least understand who they are.

  3. I don't get how fighting games are still being made but platformers have been essentially killed off. Makes no sense. I feel like fighting games are way more O-U-T-D-A-T-E-D. I liked them when I was a kid, but now as an adult I just can't get into them.
