He must really like Basketball to essentially work on the same product every year. Games like 2K shouldn't be a yearly release but instead this is one of the few occasions it's needed.

The secret to success is that the NBA2K series is actually the best basketball games to date in terms of detail, depth, and simulation. The only bad thing about them are the reliance of microtransactions for multiplayer. But if you're not into multiplayer, the series is easily the best sports series in general.
