  5. Only potentially interesting iPhone in the near future is SE if it is small enough. Not that there is too much cool things in Androidland either currently but there is a lot bigger possibility that one appears there.

  6. I’ve had an s21 and an iPhone 13. I don’t notice the notch as much as I didn’t notice the s21 camera.

  7. Iphones are boring! Iphone users complain about bezels, meanwhile they have this HUGE ugly tab at the top of the screens taking up a bunch of space. Ugh …

  8. I hate dynamic island so bad. I think that's the worst improvement Apple have done. So disappointed with it. I just switched to Android. Until they don't give me a fingerprint underscreen, a hole camara and 120hz screen, I'm not switching back. Im gonna stick with the Pixel for now. That's my case

  9. Don't understand the obsession with thin bezels, I'd rather have a full view of the screen while holding it. Same with laptops, as I want separation from background. It will NEVER happen, but I wish you could buy an iPhone like you would with a car, with the options you want or DON'T want. I have never used the front camera on any of my iPhones, or iPad (which I never used any camera on), I hate the notch, especially for something I never use.

  11. I think the big caveat is that Apple is disappointing for the consumer who changes phones every year. I usually keep mine for 4-5 years, and my switch from the X to 14PM was great.
    My huge thing with the dynamic island is the fact that we have no option to shut it off. For anyone with a 14 Pro, at certain angles you realize how much less area the pill cutout would take if you could deactivate the pixels bridging both cutouts.

I definitely can see Dynamic Island rolling out on all models as it's sort of "Apple's thing" – I say sort of because there have been previous iterations on Android, but not nearly as flashy though. 60hz for the next few years is crazy but entirely predictable. The dreamer in me would love to see them use the old Mini lineup for their SE 4/5. However, I think we will be stuck on single rear camera models (i.e., 11, 12) for the next 2/3 generations of the SE at least.

  17. Ive kinda had it with iphone. I "downgraded" from the iPhone 7 Plus to the iPhone 13 Pro Max. The high refresh rate is nice, but not enough to win me over.

  18. The the one hardware thing that bothers me about my 13 mini is the refresh rate, hands down. Amazing phone otherwise but that one irks me, it's not even like it's immature tech. It's entirely a manufactured drawback.

  21. I really don't get the fascination with 120Hz on a phone. It's not a video game. I switched over from my 12 Pro to a 14 Pro, and 120Hz was so fast for me, I started feeling nauseous and had to bring the setting back down to 60Hz.

  22. Just got my 14 pro max on a 3 year contract. So I got a good 4 years to wait for a complete overall display. Think I will wait that extra year.

  23. For developers it’s keeeeeyyyyyy for features to stay permanent for years I think consumers don’t understand if they develop an app how annoying it would be to change

  41. FEEDBACK from a Developer…
    The SDK APIs for Dynamic Island ALREADY force developer to NOT understand the size of the pill and only chose sides… indicating they can much SOONER than 2027 do a under display FaceID. So it's not that they made the Developer SDK to THIS SIZE of pill… No… every single thing we build for Dynamic Island really can work on ANY sort of shape, size and EVEN MORE… IF the real cut goes away… the OS can STILL use the dynamic island code to create the pill DYNAMICALLY!. Why? That is ALREADY hor the iPhone simulator works on Xcode!

  47. How does under the display camera work without some occlusion? The only way I can see that work is if they have 2 under the display cameras and one of those uses the information it sees (combined with using AI because odd angles…) to complete what the other doesn’t see.
