1. A 100$ android is still better than IPhone X.

   Edit: The reason why people will buy an overpriced phone are the same reason people bought Jucero.

2. Everyone is talking they wouldn’t spend so much money on a phone…. but think about it , people would 2-3k on a vacation that lasts only a week or two …. and thus in the time of batting an eyelash….

   Why wouldn’t those same people spend 3k on a device that will last for 2-4 years???

   I call BS and I say the threshold of how high the price of phones can go is 3-5K and guess what …. in a year or two foldable phones will hit the market with the base model costing around 3k….

   AND

   Eeeeeeeevryone will buy one

3. their is 9$ smart phone watch for who like internet text on 128*128 screen
   after test it usable just as a phone with sms since camera definition barely limit for unassisted facial recognition in full sun light {not numeric facial detection}

5. You miss the point that in this last generation executives and their upper management get paid several thousand percent more than their average workers. We did not see this level of discrepancy ever before. The lifestyles of arrogant people like Tim Cooke is a Case study. While the innovations at Apple continue to decline the prices of their products continue to rise. It’s called GREED

6. I am a computer scientist and i will never pay more than 350 bucks for a smartphone. I will never use a phone for a photograph because I always use a proper camera which optimizes performance. I want highly precise products for their particular jobs rather than one device which tries to be the best of all.

8. The reason why phones are getting expensive is just because companies want to make as much money as possible by doing as little as possible. Apple have continuously shown that by raising the price of their phones. According to Morse law computer processing power and transistors every 12 to 24 months. This means if your Iphone X cost 1000 in 2017, you i phone Xs will cost 500 dollars in 2018 with the same ram, storage, and etc. In terms of innovations on the software side. Lets not kid ourselves. It barely changed with every year a few tweak here and there. What innovation? It's just companies are getting lazy and they upped the price to increase profit margin but then people are no longer buying it because they can't afford it or don't see a point of paying so much lack of innovation. This is actually killing their profits because companies make more on economy of scale rather than per unit. At least this is good for the environment.

11. Nokia had a phone that costed more than 1000 euro like ten years ago. Don't know the model, it was pretty big and had a full qwerty keyboard.

12. There are still people who want the latest and greatest but I think that crowd is thinning out because phone innovation from gen to gen isn't a large gap like it once was. Will see continued demand for cheaper smartphones

16. I'll keep using my discontinued Windows Smart Phone until it stops working altogether. It cost me $30 new in 2015. I don't care about the cameras or the program store that recently closed. I have all the software on it that I need. I can read .PDFs, use free GPS with updated maps of the entire U.S.A., I can use VLC on it to watch videos, listen to music, I can use the built-in FM radio, it supports 128 GB on Micro SD card, costs only $25.00 monthly for unlimited talk and text. It gets the job done for way little money.

Where i live iphone x and s9 smartphones costs 3x the minimum wage….meaning that most people pay a quarter of their yearly earnings just to show their "online friends'' that they have the latest innovative crap. And dont be naive to think those stupid reasons like camera,processing power and blablsbla…..on my 2016 j3 i make amazing photos.

    Why not just me but people around say i have amazing photos and not uploading them?(dont have a social media account except google).
    Because THE CONTENT matters not how many pixels my photo has. A phone should be a tool for capturing moments on camera,calls,storing different documents.
    Not part of someone personality.
