  1. All of Boox's eReaders run Android. A couple of years ago when I did my market research into one, Boox was the only premium eReader brand that had an open eco system (running eInk optimized android). They are pricier since they can't subsidize their devices with eco system fees, but are also much better built.

  2. If you think it's a kindle alternative I think it's good. I carry my kindle and my phone together, it'd be good if I take one device with me sometimes, but if this one works with e-sim, when I get e-sim they disable physical one and I can't use two device as a phone. That's confusing

  3. i feel in a few years these devices will have 4k cameras, 5g sim card support, 144hz refresh rate, foldable option too. and the non distraction phone will become very thing it was going against lol.

  4. After 5 years of usage … this thing can still give at least couple of days of battery backup … that means reduced repurchases by consumers … means reduced profit for mobile manufacturers … but never the less, this thing can definitely improve world … less distraction, better mindfulness for whole society and also a but greener world …

Just add better camera and SIM card as these features don't add to distractions … (I dont get much calls, neither I am selfie person)

  5. That intro was something else, wow!

That being said, I have to agree with the other saying that this isn't a phone without cellular functionality. Would be awesome to get a product which is basically this plus a SIM slot.

  6. that's not a phone "The BOOX Palma is a phone-sized mobile ePaper device with a Carta 1200 HD screen, BSR technology, a built-in Google Play Store, and 6GB + 128GB of storage." -BOOX official page

  7. This is kinda pointless. Why would i carry around another device when my phone can work as an ereader? And about the distractions: we're grownups, we can uninstall social media and we can disable unwanted notifications. If someone can't or is not willing to then they won't switch to a device like this either.

  8. For those who are in interesed in an ereader phone……check out the minimal phone by the minimal company.

Hey marques, if you can get your hands on one……do a review of the minimal phone!

  9. The only video where Marques misrepresents a product and ignore the definition of a simple concept called "phone" . Was this video rushed WTH brother !!!

  10. Since I am a light user, and love the power of flagship devices and like to have that longer battery life,
I wonder if it would be possible for companies who make modern smartphones to make an option for users to buy the same phone, but with the E-Ink display
