Hey, gotta say, it's pretty cool witnessing a developer venture into uncharted territory, you know? 🚀
Go check out Skillup's review as well.
He goes more in-depth on the later missions & the 10 man raids that weren't covered in this review👍
(I watched skill up's review first and noticed a decent bit was skipped and not talked about in this "before you buy")
I feel like the dev team really wanted to make a EDF type game but as upper management bad decisions goes, they must've wanted wanted a PvP element like overwatch for those microtranscations. Really sad tho, this game would've killed as a PvE game like EDF.
As soon as you said it felt like Overwatch, I knew I didn't care to even try this game out. Saved me time.
Good thing this is on Gamepass. Not worth $60
This game is Fun As Hell!!! Its Arcade shooter action. And its Capcom shooter action.. Soon as I started all I could think was Cannon Spike!!!! Its arcade shooter fun. I don’t understand why people always compare start to overwatch… in overwatch. The only thing you can change is your skin there’s no talent trees no nothing this game has tons more than overwatch… I dont get it. Why can’t video games be just Fun anymore
I love/ loved your channel for a long time. But i disagree on this one, missed the mark on the BYB, the game opens uo after 20ish missions and there is ALOT 2 raid bosses 7-9 different game modrmes or mode, yes random but does happen. And with the last part of the game mattering idk i love tge thrill of racing the enemy team because you don't know the end OBJ. Maps the opem up and there is a few byt probably my only worry spot but like alot of hoard games hard to get alot of variety,. Love what you do keep it up.
Boo why is is Falcon doing the review this guy is a Debbie downer and always down on every game it's like he don't he like video games and just does this as a job or something. This guy should work at IGN lol 🤣🤣🤣. This game is fun way more fun then down on everything Falcon makes it seem. Jake should have reviewed this game you know somebody with a pulse.
I really enjoy it and it’s free on Xbox game pass but it sucks because I want more variety and options for like everything and it’s just not there
I disagree with the complaints on monetization. Skins in the game can be earned very easily with in game time me and my friends have both easily unlocked the skins we wanted on our mains within a day or two of getting the game. And the loot boxes to me at least seem frequent enough to not warrant any complaints. While the game is repetitive I highly recommend on game pass and especially if you have friends to play with. Overall just a fun crazy game with some of the most fun moments I have had in games in a while, it is a breath of fresh air.
I bet this will come to PS+
I agree there is lack of content. I love the Maps I love a boss battles. I guess it is missing a lot of customization of your own Mac and game modes.
After 15-20 matches, you end up in a 10-person boss fight. Considering that the boss fight was not mentioned once means they didn't play that far into the game, which doesn't give me much confidence in this review. This game is more different than you think. Most content is dumped after you play more than 15 games. This game does not suffer from a lack of content but a lack of explanation and clarification. This is evident through the exosuits and the difficulty in figuring out what an ability is called and what it can do.
You're being more generous than i would.
I went from indifferent to disliking this game. The combat isn't fun enough to support the boring horde, run, horde, run, escort gameplay loop.
This game makes me want to replay Anthem which, despite its faults, has FAR superior battlesuite gameplay.
I don't see this game pulling a No Man's Sky.
This is definitely a gamepass game looking forward to try though
I really enjoyed it, but played it on gamepass, it is like a free to play game because the money it wants and I wouldn't have been happy at all if I had of paid for it, no where near worth the asking price, totally worth the game pass price! I actually really enjoyed the story and the madness of it, shooting is great fun and the more you go the more you unlock, but no way is it a full price game!
Does this guy only give good reviews to shit that comes out of Japan? This game is fun as hell, I am having a way better time with this game than most others out now. Which all the other reviews I found are positive so I don't know if Falcon's check bounced or what.
I'm having a great time playing this with a friend. But i'm playing on game pass as well and would be bummed if i paid 60€ for the game considering there is only one gamemode.
I actually found the story surprisingly cool tho.
surprised theres no mention of warframe like elements
no single player mode? thats sad
Its worth my 60$
Imagine Dino Crisis in this engine
It’s free on game pass for pc and Xbox. Crossplay as well for people who want to hang with console friends. It has a lot of room to grow.
Maybe 30 bucks but aint no way 60 bucks sorry but hell no
That red haired lady reminds of Regina from Dino Crisis. Wish they remade those games. 🙁
Resistance was great if they actually supported for more than 3 days needs a big patch but will never happen
If they continue to add content to this game, it could be successful. It's a lot better than i thought it would be when i saw the marketing material.
Side note, area defense objectives go faster when all 5 players are on the objective. Even if youre a melee character, get on the motherf**** defense point or stop playing.
Please don't tell me I need playstation plus to play with people? Ik it's not expensive, but I can't buy things for games.
This game is *for me*. I don't really like competitive games too much, I think the story of Overwatch seems cool but it's not integrated into a game I actually really enjoy, etc. Limiting the competitive aspects works really well for me and getting a new nugget of story information every match or two feels good. By the time I'm done with the story, I think it'll have earned the box price for me. I did get the deluxe edition so I never had to make a separate season pass or battle pass purchase, got the 3 heroes locked behind progression right away, and I haven't felt pushed to buy anything else. I've had enough in-game currency to get the couple of cosmetics I really like and been working towards the battle pass cosmetics I really like without much worry or fuss. Like, it's been a while since I've had an online game that's easy to come home after work and just enjoy in bites, which is really nice. Glad my friends didn't end up getting it though because I didn't expect it to be all online like it is and they wouldn't have liked it. I've never needed to go into the training mode to figure out basically what every suit/hero does and I think they did a good job of injecting some personality into your silent protag.
wtf is wrong with you? Did you play the game for 2 hours and quit? Absolutely all reviewers scold the game for the fact that there are few modes in it. Whereas it has 6-7 different modes, 5 maps, 25 different dinosaurs, raid bosses, cooperative story missions and a cool final boss. Why are you throwing your opinion on the Internet without finishing the game? The game has a clear ending and credits. At least finishing the game. On all footages, people have a maximum level of 5-10. Those. they simply did not get to the content in the game … shame.
I hardly ever comment on reviews and such but I just wanted to share my thoughts. On the gameplay, it is a very linear gameplay loop for sure, but it does get expanded as you play more. About 25 games in and you are fighting all different types of enemies and playing on around 6 different maps. Also for the monetization I completely disagree and feel that was a major mischaracterization of what is actually in the game. There is no store, you can not purchase the war chests (which I think you called loot boxes) there is a season pass you have to purchase but that is no different than anything else today. All of the skins are bought with a in game currency that is earned very quick and in rapid succession, I never bought the skins just opened the war chests you get from leveling up and received almost every "premium" skin in the game. There is a skin/emote pack that you can buy for I believe 39.99 USD but you'd have to be crazy to purchase that when all of it can be earned in game. It's better to save the currency for skill upgrades. Thanks for the review but I would recommend playing it for a bit longer maybe.
Seems like an interesting game to just jump into and try for a bit… It does however seem like a live service game monetization with a full up-front price too which makes me pass on it.
This game is going to thrive later down the road. Barebones right now, but its a solid MP game.
You did a good job of explaining the beginning of the game and how it moves up. But theres a lil bit more to it that actually keeps the game fresh
The more you play the more objectives you unlock, time to time your team and the enemy team gets to team up and go against super dinos and the modifires can be pretty brutal.
Ive beaten the story and put some good hrs after the story ended, and im still seeing new combos of dinos or new map sections.
The character layout looks like something out of Bubblegum Crisis.
I feel like this game is
Overwatch + earth defense force
And probably something else too ngl
Got the game, will be playing it like no tomorrow :))
The game is basically early access, there is a tab for "dino survival" and "wargames" which to me, sounds like they are gonna add in more game types. U can buy 95% of stuff from in game currency that the game throws at you.
The complaints about loot boxes and battle passes still confuses me. If you don't like them don't buy them.
The lack of content and the rampant microtransaction = no buy from me.
Doesn't help at all that most of the user base is from Xbox Game Pass, they will play other games after trying this. Game Pass actively ruins day 1 launches because of this. There's no way you can convince me people aren't buying Game Pass and installing this, dipping on it after 56 missions (what it takes to complete the campaign, most missions are 10 minutes like you say) There's really zero content for them to sell so they have to add a Season Pass. Game Pass is literally just turning Early Access games into free to play games, forcing devs to release an immediate battlepass to get some coin back in their pocket. Really not ideal, but how the market goes.
Why is no one talking about? There’s no sound on Xbox
Adding the chests and that in the microtransaction part is not exactly accurate. I've almost hit lvl 50 and I've not found a single option to buy the chests as they seem to be acquired from levels only, at least until 50. As for the skins, there is a good variety of skins you can only get by playing the game. Compared to many other games nowadays the monetization model isn't that bad. Just look at Diablo where they have a more expensive game and also way more expensive in-game purchases.
You can ignore 75% of the story. The outter ring more or less cayse the inner parts gives you the quick version. The story is actually really good.
