As it turns out, there is a viable solution for such a dilemma. A great number of designing and engineering studios are ready to take your beloved favorites and turn them into powerful beasts of modern automaking. In this episode we are going to give you the best representatives of these four wheelers that incorporate the latest tech innovations, and can leave you breathless with their stunning looks.

  1. Most of these are sadly a prime example of “rebadge it, sell it as a new car”
I don’t like restomods at all. If it was a brand new car that looks very similer to the car it wants to be, that would be a lot nicer.
I just realised this video was souly about restomods, sorry.

  3. I wonder if the same setup for the Icon TR could also be set up with a Chevrolet/GMC truck style that is based upon 1967-1972 or 1973-1991(1989-1991 for the Suburban/1500 Suburban) truck body styles?

  4. Automotive Territory, you were right, I did enjoy this video! This type of approach to performing what I call a "Complete Restification" of a classic body was exactly what I was talking about! This is. .. ( although admittedly on a singular vehicle scale, and on a MUCH SMALLER BUDGET ) the type of modifications that I perform on a vehicle. I have successfully completed that type of build that was a first of its kind , 20 years ago. I still have the truck. It's a 1983 Chevrolet C-20 3/4 ton, 2wd, longbed pickup, that has been retrofitted with the complete wiring harness, PCM, 4 wheel anti lock braking system, electronically controlled heavy duty 4L80e 4 speed automatic transmission , and fuel injected small block Chevy 350 from a 1994 Chevrolet G-30 van.
The stock 350 has been upgraded to a 383 stroker small block Chevy engine with a custom hydraulic roller cam, World Products Sportsman Cylinder heads,Edelhrock Performer T.B.I intake, Custom built T.B.I throttle body that houses a pair of 454 spec injectors, and a adjustable fuel pressure regulator, true dual snorkel ram air intake airbox with a K&N filter, full MSD 6AL ignition system, engine/drive train optimization and management is handled by a J.E.T. Technologies custom burned chipset within the factory P.C.M. It has a rebuilt factory housing, heavy duty 14 bolt, semi floating axle truck rearend , with 4:10.1 gears, and a Eaton G80 locking differential. It was never designed to be a show truck, it was actually a experiment that ended up working, lol . I never cosmetically finished it, so it looks like any other Chevy Truck, until you get in it, or look under the hood. On the chassis dyno, it put down 422 H.P. and 447 ft.lbs to the rear wheels. Fully emissions compliant with a 3 inch exhaust system with a high flow catalytic converter and a 40 series Flowmaster muffler. Everything functions as intended, including the anti lock braking system. There's not another one like it on the planet to my knowledge. It is very sparse on the interior options, manual windows and locks, bench seat, no A/C.
It's been the most reliable vehicle that I have ever owned.
After 20 years of being used as a work truck/tow rig ( I pull a 22 ft. car trailer with it) and living in a crime ridden city, it's got its share of dents and scratches, and it's starting to get a little bit rusty, but as long as the battery is hot, and there's fuel in the tank, it will faithfully fire right up and be able to go! I also have a 1977 Chevy Impala 4 door sleeper car, and a 1986 Chevrolet Camaro. ….but they're 2 completely different stories!
Great video, loved it! You just gained another new subscriber! Have a great day!

  5. That last Chevy was gorgeous. GM always teased with the most beautiful show cars and then dumbed most of them down into boring people movers. The 789 looks like it was done by Harley Earl.

  6. Depends on the car really, some cars take to it well others don't. The cars mentioned are quite good examples of sensitive upgrading. As parts become more scarce on post war classics engineers will have to become more creative with their solutions.
