  1. The big think im looking for is a way bigger fov so it dose not fell like look through goggles because this is smaller than most headsets its a no thanks. In till this happens ill keep my g2. If it had a huge fov i would pre order right now

  2. So…couldn't use this on an airplane without a beefy laptop battery…

What if two people would want to watch a movie in the same house? Would that require two different PCs? Sounds like it's a singles headset.

  3. Sounds like the type of headset i have been waiting for. My only reservation is the FOV being around 90 degrees. We need more Index FOV options on the market.

  4. I think itโ€™s good to have another approach in the vr hardware market, but this is not for me. I want to see more social vr sharing, this is the opposite. I donโ€™t want to install anything in my room for tracking and I want to see vr/ar use cases plus an option to go wireless. Tbh not a single feature here seems interesting for my personal preferences.

  5. I want something like this but standalone. I don't care about it being able to play the latest or most grapically intensive games, I just want to be able to sit on a plane and watch movies on a giant screen without looking like a crazy person. Basically I've been waiting 4 years for an Oculus Go 2 but nobody seems to be making them….

  6. My only concern is the refreshrate. 90 was never bad on the CV1, but the 144 of the Index was a definite step up despite the LCD never looking quite as good as the OLED.

  7. This imo is POOR value. You need a PC capable of VR, even if you already have one you need controllers, and the base stations. Why not just get a Quest Pro for close to the same cost with the extras and have a superior headset WITH standalone built in and better POV, built in audio…. just makes no sense. Also, people change, teenagers grow and faces change shape, people gain or lose weight. Also you can't ever resell the headset….

  8. the one thing I don't like as an index user is the fov being even smaller than the quest 2's. but everything else sounds literally perfect about this headset

  9. Nice device, but for me to use it would mean that I have to purchase everything from ground on…. basestations, controllers and also the fact that it is tethered, I have to sit near my pc? Nope, I stick to my cheap Pico4 or Quest 2… but I like the formfactor… hopefully one day we get there with "normal" headsets.

  10. Who would've thought a company that made a popular movie-watching VR app would make hardware now? Because I honestly didn't see that one coming.

  11. Too expensive.. too niche.. totally unnecessary. No need for a personal interface. No need to use ancient base station tech – quest controllers have cameras. No need to 'personalise the IPD' – eyes change over time and will render this useless.

Make it cheaper for the masses, not the exclusive VR crew. Sorry.

  12. Hey look another $1000 headset and this one has a cable, doesnโ€™t come with controllers and can only be used properly by the person it was designed for ๐Ÿ˜‚ people keep saying the PSVR2 is expensive though

  13. Love BigScreen! More power to ya. Donโ€™t wanna say anything negative, but I donโ€™t think most people wonโ€™t go for less FOV than quest2? Maybe it depends on what youโ€™re using it for tho. Was watching bigscreen on Quest2 last night and was literally thinking how I canโ€™t wait for more fov, as I had to turn a lot to see my friend etcโ€ฆ sadly, itโ€™s something I personally notice a lot. Maybe others donโ€™t – hopefully. But Iโ€™m excited for these new types of headsets! Donโ€™t wanna discourage.

  14. I've noticed a trend for companies wanting to make smaller HMDs but they're simply out of touch with what we really want. We want larger FOV, not smaller. I could care less how good the Headset looks.

  15. Funfact: the following is what Bigscreen has written on their own website regarding iPhones:

An Apple iPhone XR or newer is required for the 3D Face Scan. Bigscreen Beyond is manufactured based on this 3D Face Scan, and cannot be manufactured without it. If you do not own an Apple iPhone XR, you can complete your 3D Face Scan by borrowing a friend's iPhone or using an iPhone at an Apple Store. No app install is required, as the app loads directly through the Safari browser on iOS.

  16. too expensive again and I was burnt with the Rift S that after a year the cable stopped working and I couldn't get my headset to work on my PC became a heavy paperweight and frankly the biggest waste of money I have ever owned.

  17. Honestly I think something like this is what the Quest 3 should be. Keep what's on your head light and comfortable and then have a short cable coming down to a cell phone like brick that's doing all the computing that you can simply slid into your back pocket. I don't expect Quest 3 to be that but I think Meta should look into options like that for future headsets. The ability to separate the computing from the displays would allow MUCH more comfortable headsets.

  18. I need next gen VR in my life. My Quest2 doesn't do my 4080 justice and constantly adjusting it on my face to try and get that perfect sweet spot for max fidelity is really irritating. It's time to upgrade but there is no one out there who will take my money yet! It's nice that these exist but I'm not moving backwards in FOV, either.

  19. Mike I think yours and Cas and Charys videos have been the best I have watched thus far.
I like the very small form factor, and the bespoke fitting is a nice touch. But I really donโ€™t see this headset being successful.
When you factor in the cost if you donโ€™t have the valve ecosystem, then the audio, and prescription lenses and for all that you still have a pretty basic headset and a long wait for delivery.
One of the things about VR is sharing the experience with family and friends and you wonโ€™t be able to do that with this HMD.
It only takes a new valve or Meta quest 3 to make this not so attractive and age really quickly. The future is built in face cooling, auto IPD, eye tracking, fov rendering and wider FOV non of which this has for 1K.
    Think Iโ€™ll pass.

  20. No ur wrong. It's not a VR headset. It's a VR goggle. Like a swimming goggle. Can't believe we made it this far. Guess VR glasses isn't that far away either. ๐Ÿ•ถ๏ธ

  21. DON'T BUY ONE …SKYNET is behind this thing to get your face scan to produce a TERMINATOR robot that looks exactly like you to go on assassin missions that you will get arrested, tried and executed for…how do I know this , I've been sent back from the future by Seara Conner to worn you before it's to late…THESE NO FATE BUT WHAT YOU MAKE!!!.๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ
