  1. Fishing with crabs like that was my grandfather's and is my father's favorite way of fishing. Is a snapper killer where I'm from.

  2. John, how is Blu J Rick doing? You haven't posted any videos from his boat lately, just wondering if he is okay? Last year you Black fished with him and had a few Cod thrown into the mix on those trips, hope all is well.

  3. Wow! Surprising & marvelous! Finally an answer to the fisherman’s constant question. What is going on down there? Very cool. Thank you for a great video.

  4. That camera is incredible——does it cost 5x more than your boat?😆——outstanding video——thanks for doing what you do

  5. Sorry I live in Florida but it feels like there’s an absurd amount of fish on your bait. Down here we only get that chumming hard with live bait mostly offshore and Even then you have to put your time in. Is that normal up there because if so I need to move.

  6. John you stated there is 90 feet of cable, could you just let the cable out and toss over the side of the boat and keep the float portion out of the water? Maybe that will help dampen the affect of the waves because the boat is much heavier? Just a thought.

  7. Hello, just a friendly note, I was noticing that in your videos you are getting bad fisheye.
When you look up at the horizon it’s curved as if to be somewhat rounded.
I believe I’ve read you use 4K to record in,this is where it’s happening, in that you’re only able to record in a wide FOV, it’s usually used to capture more of the surroundings, however it is affecting your videos. 2.7 K is actually very good, I am a drone flyer, and use 2.7k all the time and the video is stellar. I use a go pro as well. I Also use the settings of 60 FPS.
I use what’s known as A FOV of linear it straightens out the fisheye as well.
This is the person who has actually commented before about the digital looking video, and believe this FOV being set at wide is partially relevant and may be contributing to both of these issues. While 4K may look awesome on a home computer, it really doesn’t transfer over to this platform.
Very informative either way and greatly appreciate the knowledge behind your videos.

  8. Well done, your perseverance paid off. I like how you show some of the humbling hurdles before getting to this point as well. The footage and your commentary are both revealing and reinforcing, so thank you. I agree with your observation on lifting the jig too much, crazy that this was seemingly a slower day from up top, I think you will even notice differences in the blackfish behaviour later in the season after the porgies and other interference fish leave, that is if you are still around in November… Looking forward to your future experiments with this and how you overcome the new hurdles that go along with them

  9. This video shows why a smooth baitcaster is better than a spinning reel for this type of fishing…With a B.C. you can stay in contact with the bait as it falls to feel those pick-ups..Letting a spinning reel free-fall gives you no "feel" what so ever…Cool vid !
