12. The main difference between this and the Civ games is you can change cultures after certain milestones, but still retain the passive bonus of the previous culture you played as. This allows lesser known cultures to be integrated into the player's larger history, and it also mirrors real world cultural development more closely than being on rails like in Civ (One culture through thousands of years with no change). This also ties into win conditions being based on fame/renown influence and not just religious, military, or trade dominance, too.
