It's very unlikely for them to come to your door and confiscate your gold in the hard way unless somebosy knows where you've been storing it. It's almost impossible for government entities to try and to do it for each person out there.
That's why they will do their best and manage to obtain your gold over the easy way, by printing more and more money and making it still unable to use other currencies than their inflated fiat. But that will be temporarily though.
