Do virtual reality devices such as the Oculus Rift produce the illusion of an external reality? Or do they produce non-illusory experiences of a virtual reality?
Who came up with cognitive penetration? It seems the veracity is based on the depth of detail… If VR is always "recursive" as in based on a reality the designer used as a model than can we always find anchoring based on the amount of depth or detail? Some drug trips paradoxically sometimes seem more real because they do not seem derivative.

I should try the plank thing.
