I would be willing to trade a little bit of the thinness for a thicker battery also, I know software optimization is obviously important, but why can they not have an optimized slightly thicker 5,000mah battery as opposed to a software optimized 3,400mah battery? Just because a battery is bigger doesn't necessarily mean it will cut into their ability to get you to upgrade at the same rate, a bigger battery would still be depleted after after a couple years, same as a smaller battery, it would just last longer between charges while that battery is still fresh & healthy

Naming confusion is a business strategy here is an example Ipad 1 2 3 4 pretty simple the average non tech savvy consumer will understand that 4 is better than 1 but if they Name then 1 2 3 4 then air , air 2 then iPad then IPad Pro then just Ipad 2018 or retina iPad now they can sell outdated specs for a premimum to non tech savy people it’s purely a business thing even video games did the same with their naming
