How Godzilla: King of the Monsters Sets Up Godzilla vs. Kong

1. At the Toho Studios KOTM screening during the Q/A session Micheal Dougherty did say that basically if the balance of nature, or the planet itself were to find itself to be in danger, that Godzilla would eliminate the threat. Be it monster or even humans. So this Godzilla seems to be a creature that is simply tolerant of mankind to a fair degree, but wouldn't hesitate to put us down if it's warranted.

2. Michael Dougherty spoke briefly about writing for both Godzilla and Kong and how they are different.

   Because Kong is a little close to human – he's a primate, as we are – he's allowed to show a slightly larger range of emotions. We expect those very unique, and even warm, bonding moments between Kong and human beings. That goes back to the 1933 film, where he was never strictly a monster; there was always a very human side to him in the ways that he interacts with us. That was a joy to write. With Godzilla, that's not expected. That's not to say that you can't do it, but any kind of bond between Godzilla and humans has usually been more implied. So you rarely get to see Godzilla's softer side.

3. I think it's gonna be like Batman v Superman because Ghidorah could come back as a robot or destroyah and Kong and Godzilla have to team up against Ghidorah

30. Am all for a Godzilla v Kong mega movie battle, but they have to give Kong some advantage over Godzilla. Godzilla regenerates, he eats nuclear warheads for dinner (literally), he shoots super energy beams, has pointy claws, sharp teeth and razor scales….he can swim and possibly breathe underwater. Kong has….body hair and opposable thumbs?

32. We need Destoroyah. The Oxygen Destroyer was used in Godzilla: KoTM, and Ghidorah has already shown up, so it’s all set up! Do it, cowards!

37. I definitely also got the feeling that they will team up like a Batman v Superman type plot. Whatever happens I’m here for it, this is my childhood here and I just wanna see the monsters fight.

39. We don't need her. We have e everything we need now. So basically those elite soldiers will create another ORCA to mindfuck Godzilla. Godzilla will turn against other titans and they will all die maybe and then Kong steps in.

40. Now since Godzilla 2 has bombed, Godzilla v Kong will be going through heavy reshoots and be delayed to fall 2020.

42. Kyle Chandler is lucky. He will meet 2 versions of Kong. One from 2005 film, & other from next years film.

46. The goku figure on the back bothers me. Its got super saiyan hair colour but the style is like goku's normal black hair. That is fundamentally wrong. I need an answer
