Its literally an artist choice. I am positive the next artist will draw batman's batarangs completely different. It's not news worth or even Twitter worthy it's just the artist obviously liked the design.
Don’t really care at least he is finally done with DC and no “Snyder Cut” will be released cause his work for DC was bad but he made some good design choices
But tom king is a terrible writer. So it's not cannon in my eyes.

If there was one thing they HAD to take from the DCEU, I'm glad it was this. I actually don't mind that Batarang look.
I wish The Batman would come out. Sadly affleck quited his role.
Who care about effectiveness. If that was the case he would be using throwing knives or shurikens.
