  1. Now if only we had the nervegear. Then VR would really take off and personally, i would love to be trapped in SAO and jhst grind constantly. The problem is that its not the nervegear and were not really *in the game*.

  2. As I've said many times before, VR tech may be interesting, but it's never going to be more than a niche segment of the gaming community. You're boxing yourself into a corner that will be inherently limited when you develop software for such an expensive and difficult platform compared to traditional controllers, mice, keyboards, and joysticks.

  3. VR is a failure because many people, not all, hate motion controls in Nintendo products.
It is a gimmick, it is a joke, when it involves motion controls, and while some games may allow controller support for an actual controller it won't matter in the end as VR implies that kind of immersion. You have a very small market… a market which is more akin to people going out and doing stuff because of the motion. People who like flailing about outside.

1: People who like motion controls
2: People who can use a wide range of motion
3: People who like wide range of motion

  4. I feel like it's too expensive for what it offers for example there are some amazing vr games but they required a decently high powered PC and I'm not gonna spend 800-1000+ on a PC and then like 500 on a VR headset aaaand then I have to buy the games

  5. laser-sword wielding Drift0r Slaying VR Cubes to techno. This is the closest to a good Star Wars movie we're gonna get guys, eat it up.

  6. I don't think it's dying. I think it's just a niche, and that's what it always was going to be. Think of it like force feedback racing wheels for racing games. Those never catch on, but they have a hardcore audience. That's what VR is. And PSVR has plenty of games that validate the purchase. i use mine almost every day. Games like Firewall change shooters for me because I have to actually look through the sights to aim instead of just pressing a button. I don't think it'll ever be mainstream in gaming, but I do think that just because it's niche doesn't mean it's dying.

  7. I think the Devs need to concentrate VR for events/attractions rather than the home for now, i.e big rooms that immerse you on a battlefield with a theme. This takes what would be a boring play space and turns it into something amazing. You have a 20-minute experience that is memorial. This will showcase the true capability of the platform and then it is scaled back for home use at a later stage.

  8. i dont care if its relaxing, its better for you to have healthy physical activity, it also immerses you into the game's world as if it is actually your abilities that helped the character progress through the game. i get what you mean though, VR takes a bunch of work and attention that its just not getting rn

  9. I’ve always been under the impression that VR, much like 3D TV, was a gimmick. A very pricey one. That isn’t to say that I want it to die, but instead I want it to evolve. If it could get to the point of becoming like the full dive system from SAO, then I’m in. But I know that’s unrealistic at this time. Right now it’s nothing short of an expensive workout machine for gamers (just look how winded you were here). I want to enjoy a good game, with good story, characters, mechanics, etc. all while being relaxed.

  10. It's just now starting to get traction lol and after 3 years of mainstream available models, nothing…that's the sad part. Also VR shooters are painfully sucky and Airsoft is cheaper and funner

  11. Driftor, this is just my opinion but I really don't think the constant game switching about was worth the effort. I really don't think the majority of your viewers appreciate the effort that goes into what you did, you would have gotten the same appreciation by just recording some gameplay and using your facecam in the corner. Maybe you just wanted to put in this amount of effort for yourself but if not I think you time could have been better spent elsewhere.

  12. I like the VR concept but I don’t like how I have to point and click to move in some games. I just want to be able to walk via joysticks on a controller or something just until they ultimately make a VR suit.
