I saw a livestream from the Chicago Crypto event. The place was huge and looked empty. I heard that Navy Pier outside was crowded as shit, and essentially all that happened was people representing different cryptos trying to shill to each other at $300. In my humble opinion, crypto needs new money. Why not charge the techies shilling their tokens the $300 for the priveledge. Use that money to pay for security and some cheap catering. In each of the 4 corners of the venue, set up a mini bar. Charge $10 at the gate to the general public, and set them up with a crypto wallet on their phones. Charge $2.50 per drink, limiting to 2 drinks per hour. Let the general public mingle amongst the different shilling booths with a buzz. Since they can only use their phones for drinks at 2 per hour, they're forced to hang out 2 hours minimum. In my experience, a little booze loosens people up and makes them impressionable. That's what the space needs. Not a bunch of techies squabbling and waving their pricks at each other. No wonder the venue sucked. $300? Gimme a break.
